Hello all!
Observe has grown considerably over the past few months and we now have a big international audience! I would like to make Observe easier to play for people who do not speak English as their first language, so I am opening a community translation project.
A group of Polish players (Monika and Igilq) has already offered to begin translating the game into Polish. The first parts of the translation system are now working and translators can test their work inside the game without waiting for a new public update.
Polish is the first language we started to work on. If you want your language to be listed and you would like to help translate it, leave a comment below and then join our Discord so we can communicate. I can add new languages as translators volunteer.
Translations are managed through Crowdin. You do not need to translate the entire game or make a long-term commitment. Translating a page or a few sentences would go a long way.
Join the Observe translation project on Crowdin
You can also join the Observe Discord to speak with other translators, report problems and ask what a sentence means inside the game.
Please write natural text that players in your language will understand. A clear translation is more important than copying the English sentence word for word.
Some words such as Country, Region, Front and God Mode have specific meanings in Observe. Ask if the intended meaning is unclear.
Do not translate text inside braces, such as {country}, {amount} or {version}. The game replaces these parts automatically.
Community translators will be credited inside the game. Each translation can include a Translation Team credit written by the people who worked on it.
Observe has players from all over the world and I would love for more of them to be able to understand the game without fighting through English. Thank you to the Polish team for getting this started and thank you to anyone who chooses to help.
