Hello all!
Observe 0.7.5 is now available. This update adds better tools for recording the world, reusable ideology packs and much clearer feedback for AI Studio scripts.
Press H during a game to open the new Timeline View panel. You can now decide exactly what remains visible.
World statistics, notifications, the date, time controls, News and Rankings, map controls, country labels and the bottom command bar can all be shown or hidden separately.
The panel can also hide or restore everything with one button. It is designed for timeline videos, screenshots and anyone who wants an unobstructed view of the simulation.
A set of ideologies can now be saved as a reusable pack in the Scenario Editor. Load that pack into another scenario instead of recreating every ideology, bonus, doctrine and rule by hand.
Ideology packs can also be uploaded as standalone Steam Workshop items. Scenario creators can now share political systems separately from a complete scenario and use community-made packs as a starting point for their own worlds.
AI Studio now gives scripts a proper report after a run. The report shows useful results and points out common problems, making it easier to understand what a script actually did instead of judging it from one final score.
During normal AI Studio testing, the summary is printed to the console. After a Leaderboard run, it appears as a report when you return to the main menu.
You can also open a detailed text report containing additional statistics and the script's own debug output. This should make failed decisions, incorrect building orders and unexpected results much easier to investigate in Leaderboard mode.
The Scenario Editor now includes Save as New. If you want to change a built-in or downloaded scenario, you can save the edited version as your own copy. Updates to the original scenario will no longer overwrite that copy.
