In our last DevLog, we hinted that many details, both big and small, have changed when it comes to ropeways. We actually hid one of them in DevLog #13: Those who took a very close look may have already caught a first glimpse of the new chain conveyor. Today, we're taking a closer look at how it works.
The chain conveyor transports the carriers through the station. And it is more than just an animation: it is a fully functional conveyor system. The carriers enter the station rail and continue rolling under their own momentum. Once they slow down, they wait for the next conveyor pusher to engage before continuing their journey through the station.
This mechanism was still missing in WRS2. For WRS3, it was therefore an important step towards recreating the processes inside a ropeway station in greater detail and bringing the simulation another step closer to its real-world counterpart.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Feel free to leave us comments, share your thoughts on the official Discord channel or let us know what you'd like to see in the next logs.
Until next time at DevLog #16!
