Hey, Spacers!
A new Verse Project update is now live.
This patch focuses primarily on planetary object generation, character creation and respawning, ship behaviour, UI improvements, and a number of smaller audio and visual fixes.
Here's what's changed in v0.0.7.455.
-Improved planetary object generation, prioritising objects closest to the player
-Smaller objects are now prepared ahead of the player based on movement direction
-Reduced delays, empty areas and abrupt LOD transitions while moving through planetary environments
-Reduced memory usage and processing overhead when generating large groups of objects
-Improved character creation reliability during slow connections and reconnects
-Added automatic retries when the connection is not yet ready to send the character creation request
-The server now handles incomplete or invalid character data more reliably instead of leaving the creation process stuck
-Reduced the starting balance for new characters from 25,000 to 15,000
-Fixed an issue where players could appear in open space after completing the tutorial
-Camera and controls now remain locked while a recovery capsule is loading, until the character has spawned safely
-Fixed incorrect camera state after dying inside a vehicle
-Fixed an issue that could prevent a landed ship from taking off again
-Adjusted opening and closing sounds on the Bao-class Shuttle
-Added the player's ID to the interface
-Right-click now works as a Back action inside terminal interfaces
-Virtual cursor speed in terminals is no longer affected by frame rate
-Fixed the Tutorial button in the main menu so it works independently from Continue
-Improved the disabled state of the docking request button
-Updated terminal sounds for confirmations, errors, loading, buying, selling and other actions
-Fixed recovery capsule, explosion and tutorial audio
-Fixed cloth behaviour on flags at lunar locations
-Various additional minor audio, visual and stability fixes
