The demo is close, so it’s time to take a closer look at the spacecraft every pilot will receive for free at the start: the BAO.
The BAO is a light reconnaissance craft built to reach places nobody has surveyed yet. It is manoeuvrable, economical on fuel, equipped with a sensitive scanner and difficult to detect thanks to its low thermal signature.
Everything about the craft is focused on that role. Its cargo hold is minimal, there are no passenger seats, and the armour provides only basic protection. The BAO carries what it needs for reconnaissance without the additional weight of systems that would not help it complete the job.
Fly out to an unsurveyed area, find out what is there, deploy a beacon and return home. The BAO is not meant to stay on site - it goes in first, gathers the information others will need and marks the way forward.
Every pilot will begin the demo with one. This is where exploration in Verse Project starts.
