Patch Preview 0.60.00

Wait, weren’t we just at patch 0.42.00? Yes, but don’t worry, I'm not skimping out. When I created my original roadmap, before launching Gunlocked 2, I had a list of every piece of content, and the order I planned to release it in. But as they say, “A plan is just a list of things you aren’t going to do.”

This is just a re-evaluation of where I’m at in the planned content list, and I’m updating the version number to more realistically represent how much is left to add. There’s still a lot to come, but we’re more than halfway there.

There's still lots of bosses, weapons, augments, achievements, ships, backer content, and more to add. But for today, let's focus on what's coming in 0.60.00.

Patch 0.60.00 Launches on December 4th

Major Features

  • Endless Mode

  • 24 Difficulty Modifiers (Anomalies)

  • 3 new pilots

  • 2 new weapons and symbionics

  • New enemy types

  • New achievements

  • New background art

  • Balance changes and bug fixes

Endless Mode

  • Endless mode is a place for the best of the best to test their mettle. Go beyond zone 15, and face an endless onslaught of harder and harder foes.

  • Take your pilot all the way to level 50, face new enemy variants with unique animations and abilities, and drive your scores higher than ever before.

  • And since the games are growing longer than ever, I've added some new background art. More to come in future updates.

Anomalies

  • Enable difficulty modifiers that add a score multiplier based on their relative difficulty. Pair these with endless mode, or hop into turbo, and compete for the top spot on the boards.

New Pilots

  • 3 new pilots join the fray, as we head into the final stretch. Only 1 left to add. But that doesn't mean I'm done with pilots ;)

  • 2 of the new pilots will be packing new weaponry: The Energy Helix and Gamma Gatling, and those weapons will of course have their own unique enhancements and secret sybmionic upgrades to find.

Speaking of Symbionics

  • You asked, and I answered: The rarest symbionics will now be much easier to unlock consistently.

  • Instead of 3 rare utilities, you'll only need 1 rare, and 2 commons.

  • This affects the following weapons:

    • Bombikaze, Plasma Bombs, Drone Swarm, Arc Light, Hail Mary

Bug Fixes

  • With the help of the community I've been zeroing in on a number of the last remaining bugs (and a few new ones I accidentally created with a recent emergency update).

  • The issue affecting enemy spawns at the end of Turbo mode has been resolved.

  • I'm currently working to resolve a few remaining issues that can occur when you switch control types in specific menus (like using a gamepad, but alt+tabbing out while in the upgrade menu, or quit confirm).

Community4 Sep 2026Developer UpdateAn Overdue Greeting Long time no chat. I've been keeping my head down since the 1.0 launch of Gunlocked 2, staying busy with work, but it's time to reemerge and talk about the state of things now and to come! As I've mentioned before, I've had to shift priorities away from my own games to take on freelance work over the last several months, and I've already announced some of the projects I've w…Game update31 Mar 2026Hotfix 1.00.05Continuing with some small performance boosts as I zero in on any late game trouble makers now that double the power is available to players. · Made some optimizations to how the "allied outlines" shader is handled in-game. Note: If you do have performance issues late game with bombs or drones, it might be worth disabling this effect to see if there is an improvement. · Added some protections t…Game update31 Mar 2026Critical Hotfix v. 1.00.04This update fixes a few issues related to bombs. Most importantly, a memory leak related to the Shock Bomb weapon. This issue could be quickly exacerbated by the new power scaling in the 1.0 update. Bombs are a slow-to-start build that can become really powerful, and as such, not a lot of players previously tried those builds out prior to 1.0. If you have issues with slowdown, especially late i…
