Long time no chat. I've been keeping my head down since the 1.0 launch of Gunlocked 2, staying busy with work, but it's time to reemerge and talk about the state of things now and to come!
As I've mentioned before, I've had to shift priorities away from my own games to take on freelance work over the last several months, and I've already announced some of the projects I've worked on, but there's still more! And that brings us to...
I'm now working as an artist on Tiny Rogues. You'll see my work when the big 1.0 update lands, and tons of new items, enemies, and skill icons fill your screens. To celebrate, we've teamed up for the Tiny Guns bundle, and I put Gunlocked 2 on sale for 50% off for the next week.
See the full post here to check out some of the early work I've done: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2088570/view/712285688032134447?l=english But that's not all I'm here to talk about today...
It has been a great relief to find so many awesome partners to work with, and stabilize my own situation as a developer, but the paradox is that I currently have very little time to actually work on Gunlocked 2, so the last small update has taken much longer to get to. Other more personal emergencies have further compounded on this, but things seem to be calming down now, and I'm falling back into a more regular workflow.
That means the Gunlocked 2 update is back in production. It's not going to be huge, but it will offer a few new upgrades, achievements, audio/visual updates, and bug fixes. It will also come with some Steam Deck optimization that will allow you to re-enable screenshake without slowdown if you want that sort of thing. The plan was originally for late July or early August, but the chaos that is life has shifted things around. I'm only just getting back into the swing of things, so I'm not sure exactly when it will release, but it is happening.
I also brought my pixel art skills to the awesome team over at Pengonauts for their upcoming StarVaders spinoff, DiceVaders.
It's a super fun engine builder, and I'm proud to have gotten to be a very small part of it. You can see my work in the post-round simulator screen. And if you can achieve victory on your first turn, you'll see some special animations like the one below:
That's it for today's update, but stay tuned!
