Stage III Update Available

🫡 Hello, Spaceman! o7

We’re a bit late this time, as we needed to spend extra time on polishing, optimizations, and additional adjustments. The main goal of this update is to create truly large orbital structures that you can freely move around. This approach was chosen from the beginning to lay the groundwork for a variety of objects in space and on planetary surfaces.

The project demo is available on the project website. This will be available on Steam at a later date.

🚨 The tech demo is not a game with full gameplay, graphics and visual effects. It is only a demonstration of our features.

Here’s a brief list of what’s included in this update:

Station Exterior

Our first space station, HOST, which you’ve already seen from the inside, has received significant upgrades and added exterior details. This is not the final implementation, and we’ll continue to improve model and texture detail as our development tools advance.

Ship Flights

In this update, you can now fly beyond the station on ships and return by requesting docking permission from the left navigation panel. The current flight model has limited functionality, and the free movement zone is limited to 10 km around the station. By default, each ship has a flight assist mode that helps control the ship and limits its speed. If desired, the assist can be turned off with the B key.

Sound Environment

Our team has made substantial improvements to the project’s sound design. Many objects now have new sounds that were previously missing. Ships, engines, and various station structures are now partially voiced. We’re continuing to experiment in this area to further enhance the soundscape.

Visual Effects

The effects for ships’ main and maneuvering thrusters have been reworked to better match the original concept. Particle effects around the moving ship have also been added.

Known Issues

  • In some cases, the elevator may move into open space when entered.
  • Elevator shaft doors may fail to close.
  • Significant FPS drops can occur inside a moving ship if you’re not seated in the pilot’s chair.
  • Position synchronization over distances of several kilometers from the station may have inaccuracies.
  • Object collisions may be inaccurate, potentially allowing the ship to partially pass through them.

🚨 Multiplayer bandwidth is also limited and will change as testing progresses.

For reporting bugs and issues, you can use the related thread in the discussions or project discord server.
