Hello Adventurers!
Today we have some very exciting news! Player Housing has arrived in Upgradia!
Welcome to Upgradia's first Major Content Update - the biggest coziest update Upgradia has had yet! Player Housing brings a full home-building system to Upgradia. 1. Build Your Own Home In Upgradia
Players can craft their first tent from level 1 Crafting, place it out in the world, enter it, name it, decorate it, upgrade it, and customise it. Your tent can show a custom name when hovered, play its own music, use custom lighting, and grow into a full multi-room home.
Players can own up to 10 tent colours, making it possible to create up to 10 different home layouts and expansions.
2. 50 Tent Visuals
There are 10 tent colours across 5 tiers:
Brown, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, Black, White, Pink, and Teal.
Tent tiers:
Small Tent, Camp Tent, Lodge Tent, Grand Pavilion, Royal Tent.
3. Tent Upgrades
Tents can be upgraded to increase:
Floor claim limits, wall claim limits, build block limits, chest limits, shelf limits, and room access.
Higher tier tents unlock bigger housing potential and more creative freedom.
4. Cosmetic Tent System
Players can choose which owned tent appearance is shown outside without changing the inside layout. Higher tier owned tents can show unlocked lower tier visuals too.
5. Unlock Extra Rooms
Upgraded tents can unlock extra rooms. Room mats let players travel between rooms, and each room has its own layout, furniture, blocks, walls, floors, limits, and decoration setup.
6. Voxel-Style Building
Housing includes a block building system. Players can place full blocks, half blocks, ramps, stairs, display shelves, doors, and different build materials like wood, light wood, dark wood, and stone.
7. Doors
Doors are buildable, open and close on the grid, can be locked, and support right-click options. Locked doors show a speech bubble when hovered.
8. Deep Decorating
Floors and walls can be customised tile by tile, giving players control over each room’s look and layout.
There are over 40 floor and wall colour/style options, including:
Floor colours, wall colours, tile styles, marble themes, tent-themed designs, framed tiles, grid display options, and material-based decoration choices.
This gives each room more room to feel personal, whether players want a simple camp setup, a colourful themed room, or a more polished home interior.
9. 120+ Furniture And Housing Items
The Workbench includes a huge Furniture crafting tab with over 120 recipes to unlock and craft, covering categories like:
Beds, rugs, tables, chairs, storage, shelves, windows, wall decor, lights, planters, workstations, bathroom utilities, interactive furniture, and more.
10. Storage Chests
Chest storage has been added:
Plank Chest: 16 slots
Plank Double Chest: 32 slots
Fine Chest: 48 slots
Fine Double Chest: 64 slots
Hardwood Chest: 80 slots
Hardwood Double Chest: 100 slots
Chests have their own inventory, drag/drop storage, quick transfer, shift-click movement, naming, and sharing permissions.
11. Workbench Automation
The Workbench can craft standard recipes and furniture recipes, and includes Auto Craft support. Auto Craft uses the player’s own materials and output, supports collection, and is designed for slower repeat crafting.
12. Profession Workstations
Profession stations can be placed inside housing:
Furnace for smelting
Anvil for forging
Cauldron for alchemy
Cooking Stove for cooking
Salvage Station for breaking down equipment
These stations bring professions and automation into your home.
13. Offline/Background Automation
Workstations are built around automation and collection. Players can set longer crafting jobs, return later, and collect results from their stations.
14. Salvage Station
The Salvage Station lets players break down spare equipment into useful materials. It blocks unsafe items like equipped, upgraded, socketed, cosmetic, and legendary gear. Mass Salvage supports up to 20 items at once, with rarity-and-below quick add tools.
15. New Materials
New housing/crafting materials include:
Sand, Glass, Nails, Plank, Fine Plank, Hardwood Plank, and Ancient Plank.
Sand is a new Mining resource unlocked at level 4 and is used for Glass.
16. Plank Progression
Wood is used in plank-based furniture progression. Early furniture uses basic planks, mid-tier furniture uses Fine Planks, stronger furniture uses Hardwood Planks, and high-end pieces can use Ancient Planks.
17. Furniture Drops
54 furniture items can now be discovered from monster drops, giving combat players another way to collect housing pieces. Furniture can be crafted, earned through adventure, or found while fighting through the world.
18. Tent Drops
Tent drops can be found from:
Area bosses, dungeon bosses, and dungeon chests.
Drop rolls choose a random colour for the dropped tier, giving players a way to hunt for rare tent colours and higher tier tent items through their adventures.
19. Brown Tent Crafting Surprise
Crafting a Brown Small Tent has a 1% chance to produce another random Small Tent colour.
20. Lighting System
Tents support room lighting controls, furniture lights, colour tint options, brightness controls, and mood settings. Light furniture can be switched on and off, and lighting changes are designed to sync for visitors.
21. Tent Music System
Tents have a dedicated interior music system. Music players can control the tent’s music selection, with more tracks planned.
22. Shared Building & Co-op Housing Permissions
Tent owners can control what other players may do:
Enter the tent, use doors, use rooms/mats, switch lights, use furniture, use shelves, build, decorate, place furniture, take furniture, use chests, use music players, and use workstations.
Specific players can be given custom permissions, making co-building possible.
Approved players can help build and decorate another player’s tent. Changes are saved to the owner’s tent, making co-op housing a real feature. Customise - Make It Yours
Player Housing is built around freedom and personal expression. Every home can be shaped room by room, tile by tile, and object by object. Collect tent colours, upgrade your layout, unlock extra rooms, place blocks, build walls, add floors, arrange furniture, set lighting, choose music, add storage, and create a space that feels completely your own.
Whether you want a cosy camp hideout, a crafting workshop, a treasure room, a social hangout, a colourful themed home, or a strange little masterpiece only you could have made, housing gives you the tools to build it.
The Start Of A Bigger Housing Future
This is the first major version of Player Housing in Upgradia, and it lays the foundation for much more. The system is planned to grow over time into larger player-owned housing, land, guild tents, guild land, and even more ways for players to build their place in the world.
