Hi there!
Finally – the first part of Act 2 is available for your (hopefully) gaming pleasure. It's on the main branch, as it doesn't interfere with saves and includes a handful of fixes. I'll follow up in the near future with a more comprehensive post, and an update to the game build, based on your feedback and a reworked Act 1 world map. But, for those who'd like to be the first to check it out, it's there now :)
There are 4 main outcomes to act 1. You either join the militia or the rebels, and your chosen faction either wins or is defeated.
For the defeat outcomes, you will not be able to visit any of the locations in act 1. To leave the area, just talk to your new permanent ally and select the dialogue option to leave.
The victory outcomes pick up after the final battle. In both cases, an existing conversation exists, which leads to the conclusion of act 1. Here you'll guide the victors to making the best decisions for the future of Sunny Pines, including how to deal with the defeated. Your decisions here will affect the level of support you can call on from Sunny Pines in the future.
It took a lot of time to tie up all the threads of player choice over 4 conclusions. I considered writing a brief ending and having everyone say their farewells, but choice and consequence is important to Prometheus Wept and I just couldn't do it :) Hopefully, repeatedly avoiding the path of least resistance will result in a better game, and be worthwhile in the end.
I'm conscious that a couple of bugs remained unfixed for much longer than usual, particularly, the Cyberspace bug in Hec8 labs. It has been fixed, but regardless, sorry. The typical approach is to fix bugs of moderate severity immediately. Unfortunately, the amount of additions and changes being made caused a situation where it the certainty of deploying a more stable build wasn't high. I'll try to do better on the next major update.
Again, thank you for your patience and support. If you encounter any issues, please let me know so I can fix them, and as always I'm very interested in your feedback, good or bad, on the Valley of Wrath!
All the best,
Daithi
