The card economy has been rebuilt
This week's update is the biggest balance pass since launch. The highlights:
- Upkeep costs. Cards that are ongoing arrangements, retainers and facilities now cost upkeep per year instead of only a one-off price. Many of them got cheaper to introduce at the same time.
- The accountants got a new division of labour. The juniors make room for more employees, the seniors cut both fixed expenses and tax.
- Balance adjustments across the board. Several overlooked cards got stronger, and the most dominant ones now pay upkeep to match.
- A log you can read at a glance. Your own lines in the event log are colour coded by money direction: green when you earn, red when you pay.
- HUD polish. A darker top bar, your status notes gathered in your own corner, painted emblems on perks and a new tax icon in the economy panel.
- The card catalogue starts without music. A button turns it on, and the current values of every card are always on display in there.
