Since the last update we have worked through a fairly large pile of improvements across the game. The biggest focus has been onboarding: new players should understand faster what they can do, why they are doing it, and how the different strategies fit together.
But we have also added new cards, improved the lobby, made team play clearer, kept working on the mobile version, added sound and polished a lot of small things.
Here are the highlights:
There are now five guided games, one for each of the game's strategies. You play a real game against gentle opponents while a mentor explains its recommendations along the way. When the game ends, you get a closing card showing how your strategy did.
The opponents are gentle here. Do not get used to it.
The rulebook can now be opened straight from the menu or in the middle of a game. It uses the game's own colours and, among other things, explains the five strategies in one place.
No external links and no reason to leave the game to look up a rule.
The green cards now carry a sprout in the pennant, making it easier to see how many you own.
Genuine green transition now counts as green too. It obviously should have all along.
The Lobbyists now have the same number of cards in all three years, the Solar Park rewards whoever invests, and a new card lets you upgrade your customers without asking them first.
Inspired by real life, unfortunately.
Editorial relations now only work on the survey types the card actually shows with its two magnifier icons.
Surveys also show a small chip when you hold connections that amplify them.
In team play your attacks now spare your partner, so the card texts say "all opponents" instead of just "everyone".
Players can now swap seats with each other, if both agree.
Seats explain better what a click does, and you can switch language without leaving the table.
If the connection drops, you now get a button back to the menu instead of a restart. Resume also prioritises your active online game.
They are small changes on their own, but together they make the lobby a good deal nicer to use.
Menus and buttons got discreet hover and click sounds. They can be turned off in Settings.
The entrepreneurs' comments in the finale now also wait for each other instead of talking over one another.
It took them three fiscal years to learn.
Amounts, names and headers now sit properly in landscape, and the finale's annual statement can be read without zooming.
There is still more mobile polish on the list, but playing on a smaller screen has become markedly better.
A handful of cards got new artwork, and a batch of flavour texts has been rewritten.
We have especially worked on making them more concrete, so you understand faster what exactly you just did to your competitor.
Card images also load more reliably across machines.
The finale's button is now called Menu, because that is where it takes you.
The tender intro is larger on PC.
The AI picker now clearly tells you that a click can also remove the AI.
And one card type still showed Danish type text in the translated languages. It no longer does.
The game now occasionally asks whether you would like to invite a friend to the table.
It is done with dignity. Roughly.
We especially hope the new onboarding makes it easier to bring new players in without first holding a small board seminar next to the screen.
