Greetings Mercs,
It's only been a month since the big 1.2 Martial Arts update dropped, and I've already been working on designing more content for Dead Grid. Similar to the 1.1 update (April 2026), I decided to release a slightly smaller-scale update quickly, before any big features get added to the game, as that would require a lot more testing.
As usual, detailed patch notes will be included with the release, so this is a just a quick teaser.
A ton of small balance tweaks weapon mechanics, consumables, assignments, improved damage of Aimed Shot and Flamethrowers and much more. Full details to be included in the patch notes.
2 new Enforcer skills and many other existing skills rebalanced from months of planning.
By popular request, Sort by Type is here. It works on weapons, consumables and trader stock.
Parry stats from equipped gear and skills can now be seen in camp.
New challenge mode.
25 new valuables and consumables. I recently already added a lot of new items in 1.2 and 1.3 contains even more!
A big pass on camp UI to revamp old buttons and make the nav menus pop a bit more.
Many new tutorials, shown at the early phase of the game when doing missions for the first time. The new tutorials spawn as events in combat. Players running challenge modes or playing on harder difficulties will not see these events.
The update is now feature complete and is currently being tested on the experimental branch. This branch gets frequent builds with tuning and patches as I approach the release candidate of 1.3. You can try it anytime or wait for the update to drop live in a few days.
I've been watching many videos of Dead Grid on Twitch, YouTube, and even streams on Discord. This has really helped me understand what areas of the game I should prioritize next.
I've also noticed that a lot of you have picked up the Zombie Funeral DLC, especially since the 1.2 release. Once again, thank you so much for the support!
Please leave a review on Steam if you haven't already. I'm now very close to reaching 500 reviews which is a big milestone for the game. Thank you!
