Hi again-

Hope you're doing well! Prometheus Wept V0.66 is out now. While around 80% of dev time has been spent working on the Valley of Wrath, I wanted to add something fun for anyone playing the game now: a drone for the player character.

Unique Player Perk: Drone Operator

Each ally will have 2 sets of unique perks, and the player is no different. The player's first drone perk deploys a drone at the start of combat. Passively, the drone feeds data to you, increasing your chance to hit after a miss. It can also be activated to scan enemies for any tactical weaknesses. Drone functionality will be expanded with more perks in the future. Remote healing, and a self destruct attack are among the candidates.

Important: You must unlock the drone operator perk on the player character to get the drone.

Activating the drone's scan will reveal most but not all weaknesses. Some weaknesses require the drone to be present when an action, like a melee attack, is performed.

Exploitable Enemy Weaknesses:

Weaknesses will now randomly be added to enemies before combat. Currently, there are three tactical weaknesses, which can be found by your drone.

  • Armour Weakspot: Reduces the amount of damage armour mitigates. Revealed by scanning with Drone.

  • Telegraphs Attack: This character makes a tell before a melee attack, and suffers a 10% chance to hit penalty, when the weakness has been discovered. Revealed by drone being present when they attack.

  • Predictable Movement Pattern: Once your drone has identified this weakness, attacks against this character gain a 10% chance to hit. Revealed by scanning with Drone.

Valley of Wrath Progress:

The maps, character models, design, and writing are almost complete for the Valley of Wrath. The scripting is well underway, leaving testing. I'll likely release it on a beta branch first, for intrepid pioneers among you to explore. For now, here's a collection of new images and some comments.

Some lunatic blew up the bridge, making progress to Neo-Carthage impossible... unless you can help the Smombies to rebuild it. Unfortunately, smombie society has become extremely polarised, making any sort of unified action difficult. It will be your job to bring them together with some combination of persuasion, menace, bribery and violence.

Progress has begun on the new bridge. There's no way a truck convoy can pass over it, but that's someone else's problem.

Nothing to see here... just a former human, maintained in a bizarre half-life by corrupted tech implants.

The smombies become increasingly aggressive and odd, the further away you get from the central neighbourhood. And yes, that is a gun dispenser.

An impossible window, seemingly unsupported, can be found at both extremes of the Valley of Wrath. Behind the window, the void howls.

That's all for now - thank you for reading and for your support. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please do let me know! I'll check in again in the near future.

All the best,

Daithi

In-game event4 Sep 2026Valley of Wrath “Soft Launch” Out Now!Hi there! Finally – the first part of Act 2 is available for your (hopefully) gaming pleasure. It's on the main branch, as it doesn't interfere with saves and includes a handful of fixes. I'll follow up in the near future with a more comprehensive post, and an update to the game build, based on your feedback and a reworked Act 1 world map. But, for those who'd like to be the first to check it o…Sale4 Aug 2026Prometheus Wept in the Cyberpunk Fest!Hi there, If you're arriving here from Steam's cyberpunk fest, welcome! It's great to be a part of it, and I figured it'd be a good time to lay out some relevant information. To What Extent Is Prometheus Wept Cyberpunk? The basic premise is that on a near-future earth, what appears to be a devastating cyber-attack wipes out the majority of our digital technology in the space of a day. This thro…Community29 Jul 2026A quick update!Hi there – I hope you're doing well! A quick update: currently working on finishing the connective tissue between act 1 and 2. The work's taking longer than anticipated – there are quite a few strands to follow and tie up. Somedays, it feels like marching through treacle, but it's getting there :) The militia-side conclusion is mostly debugged. I'm half-way through writing the second draft of t…
