Steam Next Fest Is Live - Thank You

First of all, thank you.

The demo may be short, but the impact of your feedback is not.

The amount of suggestions, bug reports, and thoughtful discussions over the last week has exceeded our expectations.

Being compared to legends like Eye of the Beholder or Lands of Lore means a lot to us, and it certainly raises the bar. We’ll do our best to meet it.

We’ve read almost everything (truly), and we’ve taken notes. Here’s a small preview of what is already being improved or confirmed for the full version:

Confirmed Improvements

  • More character portraits + custom names

  • Improved turning animation (already updated, including optional movement animation!)

  • Clearer tutorial flow (yes, the breakable crates caught many of you)

  • Difficulty settings

  • Save system improvements

  • Custom key bindings and further controller refinements

  • Improved UI clarity and overall readability

  • Optional toggles for many effects such as screen shake, party impact sounds, tooltip delays etc.

  • Hi-res encounter images (images in the demo already updated)

Many additional suggestions have been added to our internal list for future updates, especially visual polish and broader design improvements.

Localization

We want localization. Underkeep contains a large amount of dialogue and text, so proper translation is a significant undertaking. We won’t promise specific languages or timelines yet.

When the time comes, closer to release, we may reach out to the community. We’ll share more details in one of the upcoming updates as we get closer to release.

Thank you again for being part of this early stage and for the energy you’ve brought into this festival.

Enjoy Steam Next Fest, discover new worlds, and support fellow indie creators.

2026 is shaping up to be a strong year for RPG fans!

Community21 Jul 2026The Road to ReleaseWe have some exciting news. Underkeep is now playable from beginning to end. The only bad news? For now, only we get to play it. Every major area, dungeon, and story chapter is now in place. While plenty of polishing remains, the entire adventure can finally be played from start to finish. That also means internal beta testing has officially begun. We spend our days doing things that are far le…Community30 May 2026Closer to the DepthsWe Are Getting There. Almost. We are slowly approaching the point where we can finally talk about a release date. Not just yet. But we are getting closer. A Lot Has Changed Since the Demo Since Next Fest, Underkeep has grown quite a bit. Not only in content, but also in atmosphere, systems, encounters, and overall identity. Some parts of the game became darker. Some stranger. Some things are be…Community19 Apr 2026Underkeep - News From the DepthsOnce again, thank you to everyone who played the demo during Steam Next Fest and took the time to share your thoughts. The feedback, bug reports, balance suggestions, and discussions on the forums have been incredibly helpful. Of course, not every suggestion can make it into the final game, but your feedback helps us clearly see which topics matter most to the community. Here is a short summary…
