Fixes in this version are small and pretty sporadic so here's the list:

  • Auto-detect map luminance and select white/black gridlines at map image change.
  • Added feature to shuffle-style initiative to shuffle after a configurable number of rounds
  • Added a notes field to tokens and token defs so you can write down anything you want about tokens
  • Added a forced color option to token drawer tokens, so you can predefine colors of tokens instead to override the drawer color selector.
  • Changed hit detection to use the actual image size and text size, instead of the full token size + text height. This should limit 'invisible' hitbox area if you keep token images well cropped.
  • Fixed custom roll strings in campaign settings not populating for players the first time they roll initiative with a custom roll type.
  • Locked tokens are now removed from initiative
  • Added a prompt to save before switching campaigns, very sorry if this got anyone
  • Allowed use of rulers while the DM has drawing disabled because they aren't publicly visible
  • Added support for DNS connections (like my.server.com instead of 192.168.1.1)
  • Added super experimental, and probably broken IPv6 support, if you're tech savvy and have an IPv6 address please let me know how well this works for you!! (note: once connected, you shouldn't see any differences in stability)
  • Fixed dice symbols not getting sent with dice when you use the public server
  • Removed the original public server, now down to a single server again, this will cut costs down to a sustainable level based on sales. Usage doesn't seem to warrant the extra server, it is currently unusual to see more than one session on either server, so this shouldn't affect anyone too much, but let me know if you see reduced performance.

Beyond this version, life is starting to free up more development time, so I'm hopeful to see a bit more frequent and impactful updates in the coming weeks. For the next update I'm planning to improve the process for adding faster methods of adding multiple maps and tokens from images.

Dudes on a Map: VirtuaGame update6 Sep 2024Bug Fixes & Improvements 0.3.7.4Hello everybody, I know it's been a long time since the last update. This patch is bringing some long overdue bug fixes while I continue to polish a substantial overhaul of the rendering systems to finish up multi-layered map support; work that has been moving slowly forward this summer, though development had been suspended for nearly two years as life has restricted the time and energy I have…Game update24 Sep 20220.3.7.1 Added "Report a Problem" feature, Minor Fixes and ImprovementsAs always, if you'd like to follow along with development you can join us on Discord! This patch has been worked on in parallel with the Multi-Layer feature, which is taking longer than I hoped to get developed due to a lot of life changes (all of them are good) that have all hit in the last month for me. The main feature is the new "Report a Problem" button in the top right of player and DM cl…In-game event24 Jun 20220.3.7.0 Added Multi-Floor Support for mapsTo follow along with the development, report a problem, or just say 'hi', Join us in Discord! This update, adds a Floor/Layer Management system so that each map can have multiple layers, rather than a separate map for every floor. While this update is relatively low impact, it lays the groundwork for the "Multi-Layer" rendering features which will be the next feature on the task list. Map Layer…
