Wow.

OVR Advanced Settings now has just over 1,000,000 copies on Steam! Quite frankly it’s been an incredible journey, and we are immensely happy to be one of very few VR applications to hit this milestone. So first and foremost thank you to everyone.

Quite frankly since the inception we never expected the project to get this big. The support, understanding, and efforts of the community have been fantastic, and glad to have everyone on-board. So again a thank you to everyone.

Now to address the present and future. As many of you are aware of the switch to paid ~1.5 months ago, and as a bit of a status update, my expectations have been exceeded. The result of this is that I am moving to full time support of OVRAS.

So what changes should you expect to see? The immediate short-term is a migration to QT6, which will change the default rendering api from opengl to DX on Windows and Vulkan on Linux. This should fix the issues with things not rendering. After that I expect to expand upon bindings (allowing you to export/load bindings), Additional device tracking for space drag i.e. drag based on tracker position, and finally a few long needed UX improvements to make understanding what’s changed on updates, and easier reporting of logs.

In parallel to that, I am also interested in updating the branding, and am looking for a graphics designer to do some logos/branding changes (if you are interested reach out to me). Additionally I will be trying to get the framework ready for translations.

Things are changing, a lot happens behind the scene that is unfortunately not code-related. Please be patient, but I do expect a general increase in both the cadence of updates, as well as for them to be better tested before getting pushed.

And finally a few housekeeping things. If you need support please direct it to discord, or steam discussions, these are where I check, and monitor. While I monitor other channels as well I am much more likely to miss issues at those locations. The same goes for suggestions, steam discussions and discord are the best ways for me to see things.

Finally one last thank you to all the users, and suggestions that have shaped OVR Advanced Settings to what it is today.
