Version 0.3.2.4 Bug Fixes

Dudes on a Map: Virtual Grid Paper · published 28 Oct 2021, 01:36 UTC

All eventsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Version 0.3.2.4 has just been released with a handful of small fixes:

  • Optimized the roll history panel, it now opens instantly and starts with the scrollbar at the bottom (most recent roll).
  • Added logic to avoid putting new installs settings on one-drive, and any existing DM datas are given an option to migrate the settings (and again each time a save-fault occurs), while player data is moved unconditionally.
  • Fixed a few steam-integration crashes, and added logic to initialize steam if it becomes available after you've started.
  • (Hopefully) Fixed a server bug where certain disconnect faults could result in excessive updates to the party and potentially overload the server.
  • Fixed a rare font crash

Since the last few updates have been without notes, here's the previous patch notes:

Previous Version 0.3.2.3:

  • Fixed a number of edge cases when reconnecting players to an existing game, which would result in lost tokens, tokens not showing up, etc.
  • Added some failsafe logic that updates player position and tokens when the DM updates map, and player update if their tokens are missing from DM map, ensuring better synchronization
  • Fixed issues with failing to connect to a room causing you to get stuck in a state where you can't connect
  • Fixed content type radio buttons not appearing for workshop submissions that don't have token images
  • Fixed an issue where placing player tokens for the first time would appear differently between player and DM
  • Fixed an issue where tokens saved to whiteboard maps would be forced to coordinate 0,0 if X&Y were negative.
  • Fixed a rare crash whenever you interacted with the UI with bad data on your clipboard
  • Fixed problems with room-code clipboard joining.
  • Fixed an issue where newly created tokens would be duplicated the next time you load after renaming.
  • Fixed a rare crash from Steam not being able to run its callbacks
  • Disconnecting clients are now removed from the player list.
  • Cleaned up fault logic in comm layer to generate fewer ignorable reports to me, and to disconnect more cleanly when an error occurs.
  • Added some fault handling around mouse clicks to ensure a bad-state is logged and cancels ongoing operations rather than crashing.

The previous two releases (0.3.2.1|2) addressed a problem with connecting to pub servers, and with booting a fresh copy of dudes, respectively.

Dudes on a Map: VirtuaGame update6 Sep 2024Bug Fixes & Improvements 0.3.7.4Hello everybody, I know it's been a long time since the last update. This patch is bringing some long overdue bug fixes while I continue to polish a substantial overhaul of the rendering systems to finish up multi-layered map support; work that has been moving slowly forward this summer, though development had been suspended for nearly two years as life has restricted the time and energy I have…Game update24 Sep 20220.3.7.1 Added "Report a Problem" feature, Minor Fixes and ImprovementsAs always, if you'd like to follow along with development you can join us on Discord! This patch has been worked on in parallel with the Multi-Layer feature, which is taking longer than I hoped to get developed due to a lot of life changes (all of them are good) that have all hit in the last month for me. The main feature is the new "Report a Problem" button in the top right of player and DM cl…In-game event24 Jun 20220.3.7.0 Added Multi-Floor Support for mapsTo follow along with the development, report a problem, or just say 'hi', Join us in Discord! This update, adds a Floor/Layer Management system so that each map can have multiple layers, rather than a separate map for every floor. While this update is relatively low impact, it lays the groundwork for the "Multi-Layer" rendering features which will be the next feature on the task list. Map Layer…
