Announcement #1

Hello everyone, I am JungHwan Hwang – the level designer behind LaserZone.

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to push the game’s release date to June, and it is difficult to provide an exact date yet (will be confirmed by our director and informed in future Dev Logs and Announcements).

There were several reasons behind this decision, but simply put – the game is not ready for launch, and we received similar feedback from our focused group test (or FGT) run by 9 testers.

Our testers filled out these valuable survey.

-----

First, we have failed to eliminate all the bugs remaining in our latest version. About half are minor, but others negatively impact gameplay.

Second, Chapter 4 ~ 6 felt too difficult because those maps required too much responsiveness and precision from the player.

Third, controllability for the User Interface and in-game movement needs to be improved.

Also, some of our testers pointed out that the game is generally unfriendly when it comes to teaching new mechanics.

-----

As such, correcting these four issues will be our top priority.

In addition, we are removing 10 stages from both Chapter 1 and 2 so players can get to more exciting parts of the game quickly. Some players suggested these changes, and two Chapters are already being revamped as we speak.

Personally, I also apologize that it has been a while since the last Dev Log. A month and 2 weeks have passed since then, and some of you must have been wondering what is going on.

Currently, our team is improving the game’s quality based on the feedback.
In the meantime, I’ll try to post a new Dev Log around Mid May, when rebalancing the entire Chapters will be complete.

We apologize for making our players wait longer, and promise we will come back with a game greater than before.

Thank you very much for reading.

Written by,
JungHwan Hwang.
