• World Activity, Storm Audio & Performance Update
The world feels more alive, storms sound fuller, and several causes of frame-time spikes have been addressed.
A More Active World
- Traders tend gardens, NPCs carry out camp tasks, and animals graze and drink.
- The introductory trader is positioned along the early progression route.
- Animals choose feeding spots clear of walls and fences.
Visual Improvements
- Improved shadows for player-built houses and log cabins.
- Reduced overly dark patches and indoor light leaks.
- Improved fence grounding and bed placement against walls.
- Refined fog appearance.
- Restored action animations when holding attack or use.
Storm Audio
- Reworked nearby and distant thunder with deeper rumbles and more natural decay.
- Thunder rolls can overlap without abruptly cutting each other off.
- Improved heavy-storm wind with fuller sound and varied gusts.
Quality of Life
- Dropped backpacks are marked on the map after death.
- Battery charge now affects only the map; inventory and crafting remain usable without power.
Performance
- Reduced frame-time spikes when entering towns, encountering enemies, and streaming terrain.
- Improved performance around fires, lightning, and wildlife spawning.
- Reduced map-drawing overhead.
- Inventory and crafting pages now prepare during loading and reuse their interface elements, reducing hitches when opening or switching tabs.
