0.13.0

major update

Diode Arena · published · build 22126137

This update mainly represent urgent bugfixes on top of 0.12.2, marking a more stable point where we’re confident to mark it as a major update. Still in the highlight are new weapons and UI overhaul in progress. For the coming months we will continue shifting focus to marketing and patching remaining gaps for a full release of Diode Arena.

Minor changes

  • Added and adjusted existing sounds for flamethrowers and miniguns

  • Further improvements for lightmaps, baked shadows and ammbient occlusion, which was not working due to faulty settings

Bugfixes

  • Fixed several issues related to match rewards

    • Typo that was causing server to target local player (being undefined on dedicated servers- for rewards in stead of the actual target player

    • Typo that was blocking specific interation data such as damage and kills from being properly transferred to the score screen

    • Score screen being forced open in stead of forced closed at the start of the match

    • Damage data getting omitted when the values are too small to trigger cash rewards

    • Level display on the score screen would not update immediately when levelling up

  • Fixed null refs on dedicated servers on flamethrowers and miniguns, since particle systems and audiosources are removed there

  • Fixed issue where backend would always reject purchases of tier 6 parts

  • Pending transaction display in the part shop toggling repeatedly as you click buy/sell and being displayed over the part selection window

  • Fixes for flamethrower and minigun sounds not responding to volume settings and also not falling off with distance, causing other player’s shots to play at full volume

  • Fixed problem where garage slot unlocks would happen invisbly in the back-end with no feedback to the player until they relog

  • Consistency fixes for the tech tree; the game will now double check unlock status and owned coins before actually attempting an unlock

  • Escape button priority getting messed up in the UI overhaul, causing builder escape behaviour to get overridden by play menu escape

  • Ready up button in HUD not actually working

  • Fixed a bug where part index pointers for fire damage and healing could overflow when a destroyed core gets recycled to spawn a bot with fewer total parts

  • Fixed animation for rotating beacon lights not looping, so they would rotate once and then stop

  • Fixed problem where if a vote immediately resolves due to low player count, the code to run the actual vote would trigger anyway

  • Fixed camera responding to mouse scroll input in the builder when part or cosmetic overlays are active

  • Fix various consistency issues with the play menu UI when returning from a match

    • Returning from practice will put you back in garage collection menu

    • Returning from other battles will put you in the battle menu

    • PlayerID and bot preview of the battle menu will now init normally
