It's been quite a while since our last playtest in June, and thanks to all the feedback you shared, a lot has changed.
We'd love to have you join us and help shape the game once again!

Good to know:

  • You can invite up to 3 friends to join the playtest.

  • If you participated in the January playtest, you can join this one too. Simply update the DREADMOOR Playtest in your Steam Library.

Do I need to sign an NDA?

Nope

Will my in-game progress be saved after the playtest?

No, the game will be updated massively after the playtest, so progress will not be retained for future playtests / demos / betas / the full game.

Important Information - Previous save games

For those of you who have taken part in previous playtests, we highly recommend that you delete your old saved games, as continuing from them can cause issues and unexpected bugs.

  1. In Steam, before you launch the game go to Library → right-click DREADMOOR → Manage → Browse local files.

  2. Open the Dreadmoor folder.

  3. Find the folder Saved and delete it completely.

  4. Launch DREADMOOR and start a new game.

What languages are supported?

The playtest will be available in English only.

Where can I submit my feedback?

When you end your play session, your default web browser will automatically open our feedback form. That's where you can share your thoughts and help us improve the game with your valuable feedback.

What platform will the Playtest run on?

The playtest is exclusively for PC-Windows.

What are the recommended PC specifications?

What should I do if I encounter a game-breaking bug?

There will be an in-game "SUBMIT A BUG" button that you can use; this will open a Google form where you can report the bug.We will also share this link with you so that you can report bugs out of the game as well.

What can I expect to test during this playtest?

  1. Ship Upgrade Progression Tree: Unlock and upgrade different aspects of your trawler through a brand-new ship progression system.

  2. Armour Upgrade: Equip the first armour tier to improve your ship's durability and survivability.

  3. Engine Variants: Test two different engine variants, each offering its own performance characteristics.

  4. Fish Storage: Expand your ship with an additional fish storage container to support longer fishing trips.

  5. Ship Maintenance: Repair ship damage and remove barnacles from the hull to keep your vessel in good condition.

We're particularly looking for feedback on:

  1. Overall clarity and usability of the new systems.

  2. Whether the new mechanics feel intuitive and worthwhile.

  3. How the new progression and maintenance systems affect your overall gameplay experience.

  4. Anything that feels confusing, unbalanced, or unnecessary.
