Improved

  • Edit capture regions by dragging — a fixed capture region can now be resized by dragging its edges or corners, or moved by dragging inside it, instead of drawing it over from scratch. Adjust as much as you like and press Enter when you're done. You can even edit while capture is running — it pauses for a moment and picks right back up, with no stop-and-start. Your region's settings, like its overlay position and type, are kept.
  • Clearer region selection — the on-screen guide now stays visible while you drag, so it's always clear you can press Enter to confirm or Esc to cancel.
  • Region editing during Quick Start — editing the capture region during a Quick Start session now applies to the live session, without touching your saved pack settings.

Fixed

  • Overlay staying hidden — the translation overlay could fail to come back after switching to another window and back, resuming from pause, or switching capture modes. It now reappears right away, even when the screen content hasn't changed.
  • Engine recovery on resume — if the translation engine had stopped while paused, resuming now restarts it automatically.
  • Dismissible language notice — the notice shown when the on-screen language Playto detects doesn't match your source-language setting can now be closed. It only reappears if a different mismatch shows up.

Overlay: lines show as they finish, fewer wrong joins · Each line appears as soon as its translation is ready — in window mode the overlay used to wait for the whole screen to finish. Now the first lines are on screen while the rest are still translating. · Hover tooltips no longer get stuck untranslated — a tooltip th…Community5 Sep 2026Where we are: fewer steps to the first translation, and a simpler UI nextA short note on where Playto stands, what we still need from you, and what comes next. Fewer things between you and the first translation Most reports we received this summer were about the first ten minutes: a download that never finished, an engine that would not start, a screen that stayed quiet without saying why. The August and September updates went after those one by one. · No download b…
