This update brings back the quick way to translate without setting up a game, and fixes two things that could leave you with no translation at all.
Quick Translate is back on Home
- Translate a region without registering a game — the Learning session card has a Quick translate button again. Drag a frame and translation starts; there is nothing to configure, and words you save still go to your wordbook.
- Starts right away — it always captures automatically and shows the overlay, and it uses the engine that is already running (Hy-MT2 if none is). The HUD stays out of the way; stop it from the header.
When translation is too slow
- One-tap switch to Hy-MT2 — if translation keeps running out of time with a larger model, Playto now says so and offers to switch to the included Hy-MT2, which answers in under a second on most PCs. Capture keeps running while it switches.
- Self-diagnosis gives the same advice — when the engine is running but too slow, the diagnosis now points to Hy-MT2 or Playto Cloud instead of CPU-safe mode.
Engine start behind a proxy or VPN
- Fixed: the engine never became ready — on PCs where a system proxy or VPN also captured local connections, the translation engine started but Playto could not reach it and gave up after 150 seconds, on GPU and CPU alike. Local connections now bypass the proxy; Cloud and downloads still use it.
Overlay
- Lines show as they finish in every mode — the last update did this for window mode. Fixed frames, cursor follow and Quick Translate now do the same, and lines being kept on screen no longer blink while new ones arrive.
- Notices appear above the game window — messages such as "translation ran out of time" used to sit at the bottom-left of the screen. They now appear at the top centre of the game window.

If Playto is part of your gaming, a short review helps other language learners find it — and we read every one.
