Congrats Haju05 for winning this contest with a stunning 898 points!!!
The last update included a whole new "Angle-on-Bow" Recognition Trainer (available in the main menu).
Angle-on-Bow (AOB) is the angle between a ship's bow (the direction it's pointing) and your line of sight to it. It's always given as Port or Starboard, for example 40° Port or 110° Starboard. Correctly estimating AOB is one of the key skills needed for accurate manual torpedo attacks.
Check the masts and rigging for how far they are apart.
The identification book provides only a perfect side view - note how far this is different from your current view.
Use the manual practicing mode to learn the effect of different angles on different ships
Recognize your own bias - if you find yourself consistently underguessing the AOB, adapt!
Take the quiz with "vary ships" ON and the range set to 2000 yards. Post your best score in our Discord channel #silent-shark-aob-highscores for fame and glory!
