Releasing a big update today with a lot of awesome stuff - lots of it as a result of ideas and feedback by all of you. Thanks for all your Steam reviews, all your ideas, suggestions, and bug reports, both on the Steam discussions and the Discord!

Highlights

Multi-step patrol route plotting

  • When you hold Shift, double-clicking or right-clicking on the map creates an extra leg on your route
  • By Shift-double-clicking on an existing node, It is also possible to create a cycle that the ship will then continue on until you command otherwise.

Fast-forward

  • When you open up your stopwatch, you will find a new fast-forward button that lets you fast-forward time to a specific point in the future.
  • It will cause time compression to automatically be set so as to get to exactly that point as quickly as possible
  • If any warning occurs during the fast-forward or if you make any changes to the time compression rate, it will cancel the fast-forward

Lasso deleting map annotations

  • When you have the eraser tool selected, you can now drag open a "lasso" area which will then delete all annotations inside.
  • Any annotations that are touched by the area will be deleted (they do not need to be fully inside)

Map annotation colors

  • Double-clicking on map annotations opens up their detail panel, which now contains a color chooser for you to color your annotations as needed

Complete List

Bugs Fixed

  • The stopwatch now keeps its position after reloading a game and collapses back into its compact control instead of the top-left corner.
  • Radioed contact reports will avoid estimating ship and convoy positions on land.
  • Deployment orders now count every torpedo aboard - larger boats no longer get paperwork intended for Porpoise vessels.
  • Reopening the periscope on the stadimeter tab now restores a locked target immediately, without briefly drawing the yellow target box in the wrong position.
  • The stadimeter reticle line now disappears when waves obscure the scope or while the periscope is not fully raised.
  • Zooming in on the map no longer causes severe frame-rate drops when long lines, annotations, or patrol routes extend far beyond the visible area.
  • Commanding a heading directly behind the submarine while it is turning no longer makes it snap around and turn 180° in a single frame like some alien craft.
  • Once the Basic Tutorial parks the freighter on the red arrow, it blocks the unpause button until the final firing step in an yet another attempt to protect newbies from themselves.
  • Depth keyboard shortcuts now match the dynamic blue periscope-depth band, while Ctrl+3 commands the submarine’s caution depth on the keel gauge instead of overshooting by the keel offset.
  • Map annotation labels and dots now remain visible above ships and smoke while annotation lines, circles, and angle guides stay beneath them.
  • Drawing and erasing with map tools now consistently leave the periscope, hydrophone, and other right-side panels open.
  • Campaign return reports now classify Damage Sustained from hull damage only: Light below 30%, Moderate below 70%, and Heavy from 70% onward; flooding no longer inflates the result.

Fun New Stuff

  • The expanded stopwatch now offers Fast Forward jumps from 30 seconds to 24 hours. It automatically slows as the target approaches, pauses on arrival, and cancels if the playback speed is changed.
  • Map line, point, and compass-circle annotations can now use adaptive, red, orange, yellow, green, or purple colors that persist with saves and remain readable in darker mode.
  • Hold Shift while creating or resizing a compass circle to preview its diameter and, when both ends meet separate existing lines, create that diameter as a line too.
  • Keyboard shortcuts can now be customized in the settings, and shortcut profiles can be created and managed.
  • The map eraser can now be dragged around multiple annotations to remove them together, with the whole selection restored by a single Undo.
  • Patrol routes now support safe multi-leg planning: hold Shift while adding destinations to append legs, then close a repeating patrol loop from an earlier route node. Multi-leg routes persist across saves, replan safely as conditions change, and show each loop leg's direction on the map.

Community15 Sep 2026Silent Shark Devlog: Moddability & Controller SupportI've been hard at work getting Silent Shark to a point of being moddable as well as fully supporting controller input, so here's a video showing off how far I am so far - I'm planning on making a beta available soon for testers to try it out! And just in case you haven't seen it yet, I'm still very much on schedule for my roadmap:In-game event1 Sep 2026v1.0.3 - "Crew Reports" UpdateLots of awesome new stuff in this update - my personal favorite is that I've turned the "Event Log" into a "Crew Reports" panel where the various stations of your submarine will be calling out information in the correct order. I found an original recording of the USS Sealion making an attack run, so mirror the callouts based on that. This includes things like "Time to target" and lots of other…Game update22 Aug 2026v1.0.2 "Quality of Life" UpdateBugs Fixed · The stopwatch now keeps its position after reloading a game and collapses back into its compact control instead of the top-left corner. · Radioed contact reports will avoid estimating ship and convoy positions on land. · Deployment orders now count every torpedo aboard - larger boats no longer get paperwork intended for Porpoise vessels. · Reopening the periscope on the stadimeter…
