Apologies for the delay since the last build! I was slowed down by a mix of large changes (achievements! new enemy!), laying some groundwork for showing the game at Magfest in January, and that old bugbear, health issues.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the updates!

Gameplay/balance changes:
- Add achievements! They're incomplete, I'm waiting on artwork for several. Be sure to check out the in-game achievement viewer!
- Add a new enemy to all three biomes.
- Possibility Illustrator's effect has been replaced by a crit-fishing effect.
- Thaum Calculator's effect has been replaced by a mana refund effect. Hemotap gets Thaum Calculator's old (blood mana) effect.
- Spell upgrade chips that only upgrade 2 or 3 spells are a bit more common in fight rewards, but also count less towards the reward basket's total value.
- Archmage's waterball is not permitted to explode until after the player's next turn.

Bugfixes:
- One-Inch Punch spell can actually drop.
- Fix a resource leak when status emblems are removed through unusual means (e.g. teleporting, Heavy Water item).
- Fix Acquisition always one-shotting bosses; it now behaves as its text says it does.
- Fix non-damageable entities healing if a water mage is standing on them.
- Player is not allowed to access pause screen during encounter map animations; fixes buggy pause screen behavior.

Game update13 Oct 2026Torment Hexus v0.54 patch notesHey folks, this is a stability/bugfix patch. I've found and fixed a few issues that could cause the game to crash or to hang indefinitely. Please let me know if these issues return! I've also added a way to force the game to crash. If you *do* get stuck in an indefinite hang, you can create the file "crash_if_this_file_exists.txt" in the game's Content/Streaming folder (e.g. at C:\Program Files…Game update11 Oct 2026Torment Hexus v0.53 patch notesGameplay/balance changes: - New boss variant: Corpse Lifter. - New spells: Invisible Hand, Aura Spray, Target Lock. - New event: Robot Repair. - New paranoia modifier: no healing after bosses. - New item: Lens Flare - Changed the effect of Acrobatic Ribbon: it now allows you to walk after teleporting. - Sacred Turrets deal more damage. - Bacterial Eden causes Fox to always stock some food. - Sm…Game update18 Sep 2026Torment Hexus v0.51 patch notesThe big one here is I fixed the "allies are enemies for one turn" bug. Sorry about that! It was a build-only bug, i.e. didn't reproduce inside the editor, which made it harder to track down than expected. Gameplay/Balance changes: - Using water to put out fire tiles now creates a protective steam cloud, instead of a damaging burst of steam. Using fire on Wet combatants still creates the steam b…
