With the first week of the Playtest behind us, it's high time for the new content 🔥

Greetings, Dominus!

First of all - thank you!

Thank you for being part of a community of thousands of players who have decided to join the Dominus Automa Multiplayer Playtest. Thanks to your presence, you didn't just enter our world - you helped fill it to the brim! Your presence has made a huge difference.

Seeing so many heroes exploring the world, taking on the challenges we've prepared, socializing with other players, and simply having fun in the game has been an incredibly exciting sight for our entire team. After months of development, watching the world come alive with real players has been a truly special moment for all of us.

We've also been paying close attention to how you're playing, what you're enjoying, where you're struggling, and what you're already asking to see next. And that's exactly what today's Patch is about.

Playtest Patch 0.0.5 Novelties Overview📜

• Changes to the Hero Movement– We've introduced changes to the hero movement system to make navigating the world smoother and more enjoyable. From now on, you can toggle Roam Mode, allowing your hero to stop moving forward and stay in one area, gathering resources and slaying any monsters within their range. Naturally, once you toggle Roam Mode back on, your hero will continue venturing forward. What's more, we've enabled point-and-click movement to grant you more freedom, and we'd really love to hear your thoughts on both of these changes.

• PvP Zones – Dedicated PvP zones are now available, giving you the opportunity to test your skills against other players. PvP zones are copies of zones you have previously explored, but with added safe zones to avoid spawn kills. Monsters can still be found in these zones, and taking them down rewards you with additional XP (+30%). Beware, however, as you're not the only one looking for an easy leveling spot - other players may try to claim the monsters and their XP in a good, old PvP way! We also added the PvP Arena in the City which you may remember from the Stress Test version of the game.

• Leaderboards – We've added Leaderboards to recognize and showcase the best-performing players in the Playtest. The Leaderboards feature both PvP and PvE categories, giving you a chance to make your mark on Dominus Automa's history, no matter which playstyle you prefer.

• Gathering Adjustments – We've adjusted the number of gatherable resources across the zones to make sure they don't interfere with smooth exploration.

• Gathering Toggle – You can now decide whether your hero should automatically gather resources by using a new toggle button. You can switch it on or off whenever you feel like it!

• Hero buff persistence – If you happen to face an opponent that's too strong and fall in battle, your active buffs will no longer be lost - they'll remain with you until their duration runs out.

• UI Improvements – We've fixed several UI issues and made some improvements to the game's interface.

• Numerous bug fixes, improvements, and QoL changes - we keep polishing things out.

Full Patch 0.0.5 Notes

  • PvP versions of Mourning Valley and Sunsear Reaches. Same content, same layout. Everyone standing in a PvP zone is flagged.

  • +30% XP in PvP zones.

  • A PvP area in Town. A marked, open-PvP pocket in the hub for duels and warm-ups. The rest of Town stays safe.

  • Safe zones inside PvP maps. Bounded rest areas with a visible boundary ring on the ground. Chat tells you when you cross in and out, and your PvP status follows you.

  • No dynamic monster population scaling in PvP zones.

  • Manual movement mode. Switch off auto-patrol and keep the rest: your character still fights and gathers, but goes exactly where you send it. Toggled from the ability bar.

  • Click-to-walk in farming zones. Direct movement now works outside the hub.

  • Gather toggle. A dedicated switch turns auto-gathering on or off without disturbing the rest of your setup.

  • Automation stays where you put it. Your character anchors to the spot where you set its mode and leashes to that anchor instead of drifting.

  • Buffs persist through death. Buffs and heal-over-time effects - food buffs included.

  • Death recap names fixed.

  • Reworked teleport list. PvE and PvP are separate tabs - PvP destinations carry a marker icon.

  • Player frame consolidated. The status bar folds into the player frame for a tighter HUD.

  • The ability bar opens the Automation panel directly.

  • Preset selection is visible again. The selected preset reads as selected, in the panel and on the HUD badge.

  • Broad UI polish.

  • The game launches fullscreen borderless by default.

  • Navmesh and scene corrections across zones.

  • Monster and gathering-area data fixes, coyotes included.

  • Offline-avatar reclaim race fixed, shouldn't happen again.

  • Server stability fixes.

The Playtest is in full swing and more novelties are on their way ⚒️

As you know, we still have more than a full week of Playtest ahead of us, so today's update is definitely not the last surprise we have in store for you.

In fact, there's already another major Patch in the pipeline, bringing new content and even more things to discover across the world of Dominus Automa. But for now, we'll keep the details under wraps. You'll have to wait a little longer to find out what's coming next...

There's one more thing we want to emphasize: your feedback matters to us a great deal.

We're carefully analyzing, organizing, and cataloguing the feedback you're sending our way, from your thoughts on gameplay and progression to your experiences with individual systems and the world itself. Your feedback is helping us understand what works, what needs improvement, and where Dominus Automa should go in the future.

As the Playtest continues, we'll keep using your feedback to guide our decisions and determine what we work on next. The game is still in a work in progress phase, and we really care to build Dominus Automa together with you, the community.

So keep playing, keep experimenting, and most importantly - keep the feedback coming.
