Greetings, Dominus!
Bosses - whether Dragons, Werewolves, Dark Knights or other future foes - are meant to be one of the core experiences of Dominus Automa. After all, every online RPG fan knows the thrill of joining forces with their companions and taking on a deadly boss battle, where only one side can emerge victorious.
The Playtest version of the game, although still in the fairly early stages, gives you a taste of what lies ahead. As you know, our dev team really enjoys jumping into the game with you to tackle quests, explore zones, and, naturally, join you in battles against the most formidable enemies.
And so, seeing how eagerly you’ve been heading out on boss hunts, we wanted to make these encounters even more convenient and enjoyable - and that’s exactly what Patch 0.0.6 is all about. Your feedback and suggestions played a direct role in shaping today’s Patch Notes, sd we hope you’ll enjoy all the new stuff we’ve just added to the game. Let's dive right in!
• Bosses - We've heard your feedback about the difficulties with grouping up for boss fights loud and clear. It turns out that your suggestions for solving this problem are exactly in line with what we've prepared for you - great minds think alike! From now on, bosses have their own dedicated locations, allowing up to 40 players to join the hunt. Bosses have also received balance and aggro behaviour changes, which we cover in more detail in the Patch Notes below.
• Further balance changes - Just like with bosses, your feedback on enemy power levels and is incredibly valuable. With your opinions in mind, we've made adjustments to the challenge's difficulty in the locations you pointed out. This also applies to scaling, which has received several adjustments and refinements as well. There have also been a few changes to PvP balance: player-versus-player damage has now been reduced by 50% to prolong duels and prevent one-shots.
• New in-game Newsletter window - The race against time has begun, and the stakes are high. Help us reach 1,000 newsletter subscribers, and we'll extend the Playtest so the adventure can continue. Now that's a challenge!
• Login & Client - We've fixed a few issues related to the game's login process, loading screens, and Patreon perks. What's more, the servers should now be even more stable.
• Numerous bug fixes, UI improvements, and QoL changes - we keep polishing things out.
Bosses
All 3 bosses now have dedicated locations and layers, allowing for up to 40 players on each
Bosses now punish stacking. Dark Knight, Dragon and the Immortal Werewolf each gained a point-blank AoE slam - Dread Slam, Flame Burst and Savage Slam. Each only fires when 4 or more enemies are inside the blast radius, so piling onto a boss is now a real risk
Bosses lock their attention on a single target for a slightly longer time, allowing them to perform the full attack animation
