Version 0.4.0 is here!
This update has been prepared for our Early Access release. From this point onward, our devlogs will cover updates you can actually play and experience for yourself!
Ship families now offer more than different starting weapons. Each family has its own passive and active abilities.
BlazeFang
Passive: Every hit has a 25% chance to deal additional damage equal to your level.
Active: Fires a powerful projectile that explodes on impact, damaging every enemy caught in the blast. The ability changes and becomes stronger with each tier.
CryoSurge
Passive: Fires a blue energy ring after every dodge. Hitting an enemy with the ring generates a stack for the active ability.
Active: Can only be activated after collecting enough stacks through the passive ability. Creates a shield around CryoSurge that remains until destroyed. When the shield breaks, it explodes, damaging nearby enemies. The ability changes and becomes stronger with each tier.
VoidCaster
Passive: Has higher movement speed than the other ship families.
Active: Briefly becomes invulnerable while gaining a significant attack speed boost. Higher tiers can equip more weapons and have a slightly longer invulnerability duration.
OverPulse
Passive: Taking a hit briefly increases OverPulse’s damage.
Active: Summons cannons that fire continuously for the duration of the ability. Their number and power depend on the ship’s tier.
HexEmber
Passive: Has its own built-in companions, which remain active even when another crafted companion is equipped. Their weapon arsenal and damage vary by tier.
Active: Temporarily summons three random companions in addition to its own companions and your equipped companion. You also gain the summoned companions’ benefits for the duration.
ThunderCore
Passive: All player-related stacks accumulate faster.
Active: Fires a large, slow-moving lightning orb that damages every enemy it touches. Enemies take continuous damage and are immobilized while the orb passes through them.
AcidRift
Passive: Applies stacks to enemies on hit, with a different maximum stack count for each tier. These stacks deal damage every second, consuming one stack with each damage tick.
Active: Detonates the stacks on all affected enemies, dealing burst damage based on the number of stacks accumulated. This turns the passive’s gradual damage into an immediate burst. Stacks cannot be applied while the active ability is on cooldown.
PrismShift
Passive: Shortly after destroying an enemy, fires a larger projectile whose damage scales with—and exceeds—the firepower of your equipped loadout.
Active: Creates two invulnerable clones that mirror the player’s actions but deal reduced damage.
The First Part of the Campaign
The campaign now goes beyond its UI: the first level is playable, featuring 47 waves and one boss.
We aim to complete the second and third parts as soon as possible after the Early Access release.
Two new enemies have joined the game, shaking up the combat you experienced in the demo.
Doomlance
-Fires a green projectile straight ahead that deals 5 damage. Without a shield or health-boosting buffs, getting hit means instant death.
Veylstriker
-Targets the player while constantly circling the edges of the battlefield. It has relatively low health, but landing a hit on it is no easy task.
The perks have now been implemented, allowing you to create your own builds with whichever ship you prefer.
This tree offers seven unique perks, including passive bonuses and active abilities.
Deadeye
-Has three ranks. Increases critical hit chance.
Critical Force
-Has three ranks. Increases critical damage.
Bullet Rush
-Has three ranks. Increases projectile speed.
Armour Breaker
-Has four ranks. Increases armour penetration chance.
Death Mark
-Applies stacks above enemies that expire over time. Activating the perk deals damage based on the number of stacks accumulated. Its use is limited by a cooldown.
Kill Charge
-Has four ranks. Reduces your ship’s active ability cooldown after every set number of kills.
Critical Ascension
-Significantly increases critical damage. Critical hits also generate stacks, with each stack granting an equal additional critical damage bonus.
This tree offers six unique perks, including passive bonuses and active abilities.
Fortified
-Has three ranks. Increases block chance.
Shielded Fury
-Has three ranks. Increases damage while a shield is active.
Rage Protocol
-Has two ranks. Briefly increases attack speed when a shield breaks, regardless of its source.
Emergency Shield
-Has two ranks. Grants a shield after dodging. This effect has a cooldown.
Iron Hull
-Has two ranks. Increases maximum health at the cost of some damage.
Relentless Assault
-Permanently increases attack speed. Continuously damaging the same enemy for an extended period grants a significant additional attack speed boost.
This tree offers six unique perks, including passive bonuses and active abilities.
Counterstrike
-Has three ranks. Increases damage after dodging. This effect has a cooldown.
After Image
-Has two ranks. Creates a decoy at the location you dodged from. Enemies and attacks that would normally target the player will target the decoy for a short time instead.
Momentum
-Generates stacks while you move. Reaching the stack threshold triggers a large explosion around the player, damaging nearby enemies. Also provides a small movement speed bonus.
Focus
-Your ship’s active ability recharges faster while you remain stationary.
Chain Reaction
-Killing an enemy has a chance to trigger an explosion that instantly kills nearby enemies. Those kills can trigger further explosions, continuing the chain reaction.
Overdrive
-Using your ship’s active ability adds extra stacks to all player-related stack effects.
This tree offers nine unique perks, including passive bonuses and active abilities.
Companion Frenzy
-Your companion has a chance to gain a sudden, temporary boost to attack speed and damage. In exchange, it becomes unable to deal damage for a short time afterward.
Aegis Resonance
-Having an Aegis companion equipped, at any tier, slightly increases your total damage.
Zestix Golden Surge
-Having a Zestix companion equipped, at any tier, gives hits from Zestix’s ability a small chance to instantly refresh your ship’s active ability.
Viora Momentum
-Having a Viora companion equipped, at any tier, slightly reduces your ship’s active ability cooldown after each dodge.
Herdara Vitality
-Having a Herdara companion equipped, at any tier, grants a permanent bonus to your health.
Dropko Harvest
-Having a Dropko companion equipped, at any tier, increases the chance that defeated enemies will drop XP orbs.
Krimzon Twin
-Having a Krimzon companion equipped, at any tier, allows it to create additional clones of itself.
Overcharged Shot
-After every set number of shots, fires a special bullet that deals damage equal to a multiple of your ship’s total equipped firepower.
Arsenal Overload
-Increases the damage of all equipped Heavy and Light weapons and permanently increases companion attack speed. After every set number of shots, there is also a small chance for lightning to strike across the battlefield, damaging every enemy in its path.
This tree offers six unique perks, including passive bonuses and active abilities.
Blood Knowle
-Increases the XP gained from defeated enemies.
Wild Shot
-Every set number of shots, fires a special projectile with a 50/50 chance of either dealing heavy damage or restoring the enemy to full health.
Glass Cannon
-Increases damage at the cost of health.
Lightweight
-Increases movement speed at the cost of health.
Blood Lust
-Has six ranks. Completing a wave without picking up health grants a stack that increases damage. This bonus can accumulate over multiple waves.
Adrenaline
-Gaining health increases attack speed and damage.
Perk progression is separate for each ship, so switching to a different ship means earning its perk points separately.
If you are unhappy with your build, you can spend Coins to reset it. This refunds all the perk points you have earned for that ship, allowing you to try something new.
The Fusion System interface has received a small update, and weapon crafting is now available.
We continue to work through important bugs as quickly as possible. Since the previous devlog, we have fixed more than 60 bugs.
Balancing is also an ongoing priority. We know that some ships and abilities are currently too powerful, while others feel too weak, and we are working to bring them into balance.
More playable campaign levels are on the way.
Additional laboratory sections are in development: the Fabrication Lab and Beast Vault.
The Galactic Exchange is further down the road, but we also want to complete it as soon as possible.
More updates are coming soon.
See you in the next devlog!
