Version 0.3.2 is here!
This update focuses on expanding the game's universe, improving the presentation of the story, adding new ship families, and polishing several existing systems.
The planets are now revisitable!
Players can return to previously visited planets instead of having them function as one-time locations. This opens up more possibilities for exploration and progression throughout the game.
The planets have also received a visual update based on their respective universe themes, giving each location a stronger visual identity and helping the different parts of the BitBeasts universe feel more connected.
All planned ship families have now been added to BitBeasts!
The current ship families are:
* BlazeFang - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* CryoSurge - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* VoidCaster - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* OverPulse - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* HexEmber - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* ThunderCore - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* AcidRift - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
* PrismShift - Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3
This is a major milestone for the game's ship system and gives us the complete foundation for expanding and balancing the different ship families.
The first part of the Campaign has received additional UI elements to improve the presentation and make the experience clearer for the player.
We're continuing to build the Campaign presentation alongside the game's progression systems.
Bosses that use CTRL-based attacks have received additional development and improvements.
The Z1X6 boss has also received a new charge effect for its cannons, making its attacks more visually readable and giving the player a clearer indication of what is about to happen.
We've also changed and varied the options presented after defeating Z1X6, giving players more variation in what happens after the boss encounter.
The BitBeasts logo has been replaced in-game with the updated version.
We've also changed the Perk UI button to better fit the current UI design and overall presentation of the game.
A persistent audio bug affecting the Master Volume settings has been fixed.
Previously, if a player lowered the volume and restarted the game, increasing the volume again would not properly restore the audio.
Our next major focus will be on expanding and polishing the systems already in place.
We're planning to fully develop the Perk System, turning the current foundation into a more complete and meaningful part of the gameplay and build system.
We'll also be integrating the Super Abilities of the different ship families, giving each family another powerful gameplay-defining mechanic.
The Campaign's sub-stars will also start receiving more attention. Our goal is to fill these areas with more life, making the universe feel less like a series of levels and more like a living world worth exploring.
Finally, we're working on making important gameplay moments feel much more epic and impactful. When something special happens — such as a powerful Perk activating or a particularly strong effect proccing — we want the game to properly communicate that moment through additional visual effects and presentation.
The goal is simple: when something powerful happens, you should feel it.
More updates are coming soon.
See you in the next Devlog!
