This Demo update focuses on making the Investigation Notebook smoother to use while reviewing clues, organizing notes, and returning to source material.
New Features
- The Investigation Notebook can now be docked to the left side of the screen, then undocked at any time to return to a floating window.
- Drag the divider to adjust the docked notebook width. Its docked state and width are preserved after restarting the game.
Improvements and Fixes
- Improved split-screen layouts and text readability across the family tree, Evidence, Archives, and the document reader while the notebook is docked.
- Smoothed the transitions when docking, undocking, closing, and reopening the notebook to reduce visual jumps and flicker.
- Added clearer audio feedback for opening and closing the notebook, changing its docked state, saving excerpts, confirming deletions, and following source links.
- Added lift, pass, and settle sounds for notebook reordering, with improved timing during rapid actions and when returning to the game.
Save Compatibility
- This update is compatible with existing saves. You do not need to start a new game.
- Existing Investigation Notebook entries will be preserved.
