Hi Terraformers!
I’m excited to announce that Project Tomorrow is now being actively played in a closed playtest.
The current group of testers is still fairly small, and now that the initial wave of bugs is behind us, I’d love to invite more players to join. If you’re interested in helping shape the game early, there’s a link to apply at the bottom of this post.
Now for the update!
Over the last few weeks, I’ve redesigned how players complete a region and progress to the next area of Earth.
Previously, progression was based entirely on reaching specific terraforming levels. It was functional but it lacked the feeling of truly rebuilding humanity’s presence on the planet.
To solve this, I’ve added Settlements.
Settlements are ruined structures scattered throughout the world that players must locate and rebuild. Once restored, settlers awaken from stasis and begin living there, increasing your population. If you can defend enough settlements and grow your population, the region is complete and you may move on to terraform the next area.
Settlers also serve another purpose: they can be assigned to Barracks, allowing soldiers to join the fight against the hordes attacking your base.
Barracks and AI soldiers are the next major systems I’m working on, and I’m looking forward to getting them into the playtest soon.
If you’d like to play Project Tomorrow early and provide feedback, please fill out the Google form here. I truly appreciate the support and can’t wait to share more soon.
