Fixing what was broken

“It’s boring.”

That’s the constructive criticism I heard most after the demo launched on Monday.

And you know what? You were right.

Every action you took brought the next enemy wave close but terraforming increased every second. That meant one of the strongest strategies was also the least interesting one:

Sit around and do nothing.

So I changed it.

Terraforming has been completely reworked

Terraforming no longer increases over time.

Now you earn Terraform by:

  • Building Terraforming structures

  • Upgrading them

  • Keeping them alive during enemy waves

There is no longer any benefit to standing around waiting. Every action still brings the next enemy wave closer, so you’ll need to decide how aggressively you want to expand.

The first region is now easier

The other major feedback I heard was that the game was too difficult and the tutorial needed improvement.

Also fair.

In this update:

  • Oxygen, thirst, and health deplete more slowly

  • Early enemy waves contain fewer enemies

  • There is tutorial content and more quests to guide you

And for those of you who want a harder experience: don’t worry.

Once you complete the tutorial region, the Modifier system unlocks and you can use it to customize the difficulty and playstyle much more aggressively.

Key rebinding is here

This was another frequent request, so this update also adds full key rebinding, along with a collection of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Localization improvements are coming

The game currently uses Google Translate for languages other than English. I know some of those translations are rough.

Professional localization is already in progress and improved translations will be added soon. Thanks for your patience while I get everything pulled together.

Thank you

This has been an incredible first week.

More than 3,000 players have played the demo, and Project Tomorrow now has more than 21,000 wishlists.

More importantly, your feedback has already made the game better.

The next major update will add a new region, along with food and water production. Supply crates will become much less common. Keeping yourself alive will become your responsibility.

You’ll also unlock collection drones that can gather resources for you, so you won’t have to personally mine everything forever.

I’m super pumped for you to see what’s coming next.

Thanks for being so cool and supportive.

Ryan

In-game event16 Sep 2026The next region is here!Hi Terraformers, I'm pumped to announce that a new region, Tidehaven , is here! Tidehaven is a barren volcanic wasteland and it's up to you to transform it back into the tropical oasis it once was. This region introduces some new mechanics and I'd love to hear what you think of them. First up is automation . You'll unlock a new building called the Resource Hub , which gives you additional stora…In-game event2 Sep 2026Getting Out of the Player’s Way"Busy Trash" It’s not the feedback I wanted to hear, but it was feedback I needed to hear. Players were spending too much time managing inventory and navigating menus — and not enough time actually playing the game. So the latest update takes a big swing at fixing that. Your backpack now has 50% more storage at every upgrade level , and I’ve moved a feature I was originally saving for Region 2…Community17 Aug 2026You Can Finally Play Project TomorrowI’ve been working on this game whenever I can for over a year, and today is a pretty big milestone for me: you can finally play it. The demo takes you through the first region of the game and introduces the core systems: building, terraforming, exploration, and combat. There’s a lot more still to come, including food, water, and automated mining systems that are introduced in the second region.…
