LIMSCAPE Multiplayer Beta Update
Multiplayer has been added to LIMSCAPE as a Beta feature.
With this update, you can enter the same LIMSCAPE space with other players, explore the same 3D environment, talk, and spend time together.
Multiplayer is a major new feature for LIMSCAPE, but it is currently available as a Beta feature. Depending on your network environment and usage conditions, connections may fail, or synchronization may take some time. We will continue improving stability and usability.
About Levels That Support Multiplayer
Multiplayer is currently not available in official levels.
Multiplayer can be used with levels downloaded from LIMSCAPERS.
You can join multiplayer from the detail page of levels that support it.
Open Multiplayer
Open Multiplayer is a shared room that anyone can join from a LIMSCAPE detail page.
In LIMSCAPES where multiplayer is enabled, you can meet other players accessing the same space and explore together. This mode is intended for casually sharing public LIMSCAPES with other players who happen to be there.
It is suitable when you want to try multiplayer easily, or when you want to experience the same LIMSCAPE with multiple people.
Private Multiplayer
Private Multiplayer lets you create an invite-only room.
When you create a private room, a dedicated invite URL is generated. Only people who have that URL can join the same room.
This mode is suitable when you want to explore with friends, show someone a LIMSCAPE you created, or spend time in the same space with a limited group of people.
About Multiplayer Connections
LIMSCAPE multiplayer uses WebRTC-based peer-to-peer communication.
Because of this, connection quality may depend on your network environment. Some mobile networks, internet providers, routers, or firewall settings may prevent connections.
If you cannot connect, trying a different network environment may help.
Initial synchronization may also take some time depending on the amount of content and edit history in the LIMSCAPE.
Voice and Camera
During multiplayer, voice and camera features can be used when needed. Camera and microphone are optional. You can enjoy multiplayer without using either of them. In Open Multiplayer, since you may enter the same space with players you do not know, available video overlays are limited to security-focused options. In Private Multiplayer, video overlay settings can be used more freely when playing with people you trust.
Other Fixes and Improvements
Improved an issue where some UI screens could become unresponsive.
Added support for manually editing synchronized URLs.
Fixed reflection issues in Environment Settings, including Sphere Dome.
Improved stability around multiplayer synchronization and connections.
With this update, LIMSCAPE expands from a space you create and visit alone into a space where you can be in the same place with others.
Multiplayer is still in Beta, but it is an important step for the future of LIMSCAPE. Please give it a try.
