LIMSCAPE Version 1.62.4
1.62.3 → 1.62.4
LIMSCAPE version 1.62.4 is now available.
This update improves startup stability on AMD systems, multiplayer collaboration, user audio, editing controls, and UI behavior. It also introduces the Beta version of Runtime MCP, which lets AI and compatible tools observe and operate LIMSCAPE to assist with level creation.
Startup and stability
- Added a safeguard for a crash that could occur on some AMD GPU systems after a LIMSCAPE update. LIMSCAPE Launcher now detects AMD hardware and automatically repairs the rendering cache only on the first launch after the game version changes.
- The first startup or level load may take longer while the cache is rebuilt. This repair does not run on every launch.
- Fixed cases where some Overlap Actors did not respond at level startup or after returning from EditMode.
Administrator privileges and the launcher
- The launcher previously requested administrator privileges to register limscape:// links and the .limscape file association in Windows. Version 1.62.4 moves these registrations to the current Windows user, preserving both features without requiring administrator privileges. Administrator privileges were never used for gameplay, unrelated files, or other system settings.
- Machine-wide entries created by an older version may remain. LIMSCAPE does not silently remove them because removal would require elevation again and could affect other users on the same PC. The new per-user entries take priority.
Creation, controls, and UI
- Added Keyboard Highlight and Click Highlight, including immediate visual updates when their settings are changed.
- Improved autofocus when looking into the sky or distance, Grouper and Cloner Hide/Show behavior including child objects, multi-selection deselection, and the held position of Physics objects.
- Added a configurable maximum opening angle for Door Actors.
- Added Pause Menu control with Start, Select, and Escape, and improved input-setting persistence.
- LIMSCAPERS now hides while the Pause Menu is open. Tip balloons also disappear immediately when their parent menu closes.
- Added Master Volume, clearer Flicker wording for Light Noise, level-specific material icon caching, an out-of-bounds fix for Level 2, and other small level corrections.
Audio and multiplayer collaboration
- Improved user-audio selection, switching, removal, and RTC synchronization for Door, Custom Footstep, Grand Piano, and Game Ender.
- Fixed SoundPlayer and OverlapSound reset behavior and multiplayer synchronization when audio is changed or removed from multiple selected objects.
- Fixed WAV importing and remote file-name display and playback during RTC collaboration.
- Improved InstanceConverter RTC synchronization, multiplayer edit-session cleanup, and Private RTC protocol 3 compatibility.
Runtime MCP Beta
- Added the Beta version of Runtime MCP, allowing AI and compatible tools to observe and operate a running LIMSCAPE session.
- It supports player control, Actor search, placement and editing, material creation, image, Static Mesh and audio imports, G-Objects, saving, RTC collaboration, visual observation, and traces.
- Runtime MCP remains in Beta and will continue to expand and improve. See the packaged MCP.md for setup and usage information.
Known note
- Assigning the same controller button to Click and another action can cause inconsistent behavior. Please use non-overlapping assignments for now.
Thank you for your reports and for helping test these changes. We will continue improving LIMSCAPE so creation, exploration, and collaboration are more stable and enjoyable.
