Week 4 — Local Co-op Beta & New Leaderboards

Week 4 brings one of the biggest additions to Circulo so far.

Local co-op is now available in beta, introducing two new ways to play together on the same PC.

This is also the first visible step toward the larger multiplayer direction I hinted at last week.

Local Co-op — Beta

Circulo can now be played locally with multiple players on the same machine.

The system is currently in beta, so there may still be balance issues, edge cases or unexpected behavior while I continue testing and improving it.

For now, local multiplayer includes two different modes:

PvE — Co-op

Fight together and survive.

Players share the same run and work together against the arena, combining their builds and trying to survive for as long as possible.

It’s the familiar Circulo survival experience — now with another player beside you.

PvP — Last Survivor

PvP takes a different approach.

Each player fights through their own survival run at the same time.

The goal is simple:

survive longer than your opponent.

Once only one player remains, the last survivor wins.

Leaderboards by Difficulty

Leaderboards have also been reworked this week.

Previously, checkpoint rankings were shared across all difficulty settings.

They are now separated into individual leaderboards for:

  • Easy

  • Medium

  • Hard

This means runs are now compared against players competing under the same difficulty conditions.

Still in Beta

Local multiplayer is a major addition and this first version is only the beginning.

I’ll continue testing the new modes, improving controller behavior, fixing multiplayer-specific issues and adjusting the experience based on how everything performs in real gameplay.

More improvements are already on the way.

Thanks for playing Circulo and for following the development!
