Development Update 5

Dead Metro · published 29 Aug 2025, 18:20 UTC

This update focuses on fixing and improving core game systems to enhance performance during gameplay.

Performance

We’ve now fixed performance issues related to foliage, including both rendering and framerate handling.
Previously, trees caused framerate drops, especially during the initial moment of chopping. This has now been resolved.

In addition, small debris like leaves or cans caused performance drops when players walked near them.
We’ve fixed this as well, and collecting items like leaf debris or cans will no longer affect framerate.

Fix animation

We’ve fixed additional animation issues following the update that introduced freeform melee control.
This new system caused attack animations during jumping and crouching to not work correctly.
We’ve now addressed this. When the player is crouching or jumping, melee attacks will now follow the direction the player is facing.

FIX

  • Fixed vehicle rendering distance at long range.
