Ever played a game and thought, "this is great, but I want to tamper with it immediately"?
Maybe you wanted stronger weapons. Maybe meaner enemies. Maybe a ship that should not exist. Maybe you just saw one stat and took it personally.
Well, Update 0.9.0.0 introduces mod support, so now you can poke at the game's internals without needing to politely accept the intended experience. A growing list of systems now supports mod integration, including enemies, weapons, loot, quests, ships, POIs, core upgrades, and localization. In other words, the toolbox is open. Please use it responsibly. Or don't. Honestly, I know how this goes.
