100,000 Wishlists. Thank you!

Hello everyone,

After the fun, but somewhat chaotic start to DREADMOOR last year, 2026 has been a treat, the playtest was a big success, we saw that the vast majority of you liked the game (big sigh of relief there), and for us to be able to prove that we're actually working on a real game was a huge weight off our backs.

So, imagine our surprise when we notice that we just crossed the 100,000 wishlist milestone here on Steam. For where DREADMOOR is now (in terms of development cycle), this is the best vote of confidence that we could have received, so we want to take a moment to give you our heartfelt thanks!

Where We Are

For those of you who are curious to know, since the early pre-alpha playtest, we've been focused entirely on building DREADMOOR. The best part is, the feedback that you gave us has already proven its value as we used it to improve the fishing experience (the most vital part of the game), and the reaction we got back from a focus test group was a resounding double thumbs up.

We also had the chance to participate in IGN Fan Fest, and for the event, we prepared a special Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer, and there are a few easter eggs in that trailer when it comes to new features!

Watch on YouTube

A post-apocalyptic, flooded world set in the early twentieth century hides untold treasures beneath its shadowy waters, but only the most fearless fishermen can make a living in the Submerged Lands. As the murky waters blur the line between predator and prey, you will fuel up a small but sturdy vessel and travel through ominous waterways filled with mutant life that has developed a taste for human flesh.
Scavenge for materials and parts, then cast your line and haul in dozens of strange sea creatures, each with its own value, rarity, and strength, but know that there will always be a bigger catch lurking out there. You might begin with calmer fish like the Softgrazer, but eventually you will upgrade your gear to hunt dangerous and valuable predators like the Bristler.

Get Involved with DREADMOOR

For those of you who are watching us, or perhaps have just discovered DREADMOOR and want to get involved with the project, please join our Discord server.

Why? Because, other than the server being the best place to be to stay up to date on our progress, we use it to run our various game tests.

The early pre-alpha playtest was the first, and we are planning to run more. But perhaps more interesting to you would be that, for the most active of our community, we run focus tests where we gauge whether or not a new feature is good or not based on your feedback.

If you would like to join future tests, come hang out with us on Discord: https://discord.gg/dreadmoorgame

And of course, if you're already in the server and want to take part, just let us know! We will reach out to everyone who shows an interest.

With that, we’d like to once again thank you all for the incredible support. We will be back soon with more updates about the game.

On that point, why not let us know (in the comments) what you'd like to learn about DREADMOOR!

Community4 Sep 2026Celebrating 400k wishlists and Open Playtest (10-14 September)We’ve passed 400,000 wishlists on Steam. Normally, this is where we’d give you the carefully written PR paragraph about how overjoyed, thrilled, humbled, and generally delighted we are to have reached such an incredible milestone. And, well…we are, but what’s written below is probably a lot closer to what actually went through our heads when we saw the number. 400,000 is, frankly, a slightly ri…Community28 Aug 2026Dev Diary #6: The Trawler as a LifelineWelcome to our sixth Dev Diary, where we return once more to the world of DREADMOOR to talk about something that is central to how the player experiences the Submerged Lands: the trawler. In our previous Dev Diaries, we looked at the world after the collapse, the Sea Blight, the importance of fishing, and how DREADMOOR builds tension without relying on constant combat. All of those topics conne…Community19 Aug 2026Dev Diary #5: How DREADMOOR Builds Tension Without Constant CombatWelcome to our fifth Dev Diary, where we return to the world of DREADMOOR and talk about something that sits at the heart of the game’s atmosphere: tension. In our previous Dev Diaries, we looked at the world of DREADMOOR, the importance of fishing, the Sea Blight, and what came after the collapse. All of these things are connected by one shared idea, which is that danger in DREADMOOR should no…
