In the wild, the environment isn't just a backdrop, it's a living force that dictates how you survive.
Winter isn't just a visual change; it’s a transformation of the gameplay itself. As the days grow short, your priorities must shift to stay alive.

Nature is unpredictable, making every playthrough unique. These two events occur randomly. Some years might be peaceful, while others force you to face nature's extremes. While they can be disabled in custom settings, they provide an extra layer of depth for the true survivor.
Drought (summer only)

When the heat intensifies, hydration becomes your top priority. As water sources dry up and wildlife moves to cooler areas, your survival depends on your ability to store resources in advance. It’s a time for stillness and careful planning or for discovering alternative ways to stay hydrated during the drought event.
Flood:

As the waters rise, animals vanish from the flooded areas, forcing you to rely on your food stores. Heavy rain causes water levels to rise, testing the placement of your camp. Choosing your build site with care is essential, where areas near inland waters are at risk. The relentless rain will constantly wear down your structures, so be prepared to repair your base. Expect to be soaked throughout the event.
