Game Update 1.1.85

Greetings, bushcrafters!

This patch mainly focuses on Quality of Life improvements and various bug fixes. However, I was also excited to add the new Awning. This gives you more freedom to customize your house and protect items outside.

Also, if you've been enjoying the game, please consider leaving a Steam review. It’s the best way to support a solo project like this!New Construction: Awning

  • Added a new exterior wall attachment to protect items and drying processes from harsh weather conditions.

Quality of Life

  • Replaced "Perceived Temperature" with Body Thermal Equilibrium. This gives a better representation of whether your character feels cold, neutral or warm. Hopefully this eliminates confusion around negative degrees.

  • Smokers and similar structures can now be placed indoors. As a result, placing free-standing structures around your base is now smoother and more forgiving. Constructions like charcoal mound, bloomery and water still require rather flat ground.

  • Wall racks can now be placed to both sides of walls. Same mechanic as with tables, which was added a couple of versions then.

  • Dismantling structures now refunds all the materials. Construction start condition is now tied directly to the raw materials used. This makes base building much more experimental and forgiving.

  • Added a roof placement direction preview. This setting can be toggled on or off in the settings menu.

Other Updates & Fixes:

  • Codex: Expanded guides and descriptions, particularly on the Essentials page.

  • Change: Iron cauldron weight reduced to 1,5 kg.

  • Change: Spoiled and burned food now displays its actual condition instead of showing 0%. Previously set to 0% due to the low quality nature of these items, showing their actual status makes inventory tracking much more consistent.

  • Change: Shaped granite has been renamed to “Sharpened granite” to better describe the use of the resource.

  • Fixed bug: In some special circumstances adding a pile directly onto a travois caused a soft lock.

  • Fixed bug: Visual clipping through snow terrain during the torch ignition animation during winter.

  • Fixed bug: Misplaced boulders across the terrain.

  • Fixed bug: A soft-lock triggered when igniting a torch on the ground while carrying shoulder items.

  • Fixed bug: Inverted wall placement ("inside-out" buildings) causing the game to register the player as indoors while outside.

  • Fixed bug: Picking up an entire item pile while holding a hand item is now only blocked if the pile's contents include shoulder items.

  • Fixed bug: Rare visual issue where mound progress showed 100% before completion. Fixed: Adding water or snow to a pot with an unfinished drink did not reset the progress percentage on the item sprite.

  • Refactored the internal item-pile logic to test a potential fix for the last item occasionally getting stuck on the ground. This seems to only happen with wood trunks.

  • Other minor bug fixes.

Thank you for your support, and happy surviving!

Now returned. - Item piles can be created on a table. Also piles collider has been refined to ensure that they can be put on a table. Sometimes a pile collider is too big, rejecting placement near another item, when it can be obviously seen that there is plenty of space. Will continue refining later. - Iron prills can be piled now.
