Hi,

We are one-week away from Early Access!

Restitutor will launch in Early Access on September 8, 2026, priced at $5.99 / €5.99 / CN¥26.00. A 20% launch discount will be available for the first two weeks. It will also join the "Presented By Fish Pond Collection," where owners of my other games can receive an additional 20% discount.

I am also pleased to present Patch 0.20. This patch adds Raetia as a new playable province, introduces heir selection and a new defensive-war option, and brings several tutorial, balance, and quality-of-life improvements.

Now Playable: Raetia

Raetia is now available for new runs via Rebirth. This is a bit ahead of the schedule: originally it is planned as a post-release content. This is because the Raetia's missions are planned to include "Settle New Tiles" mechanic, which is scheduled after the release. But after some thinking, I've decided that I should release Raetia without the new mechanic and deliver the mechanic and update Raetia's missions after the release. In this way, I can make sure the initial release is more content-packed.

Raetia begins between Italia and the Danube, with a campaign shaped by mountain passes, frontier warfare, and the changing peoples of Late Antiquity.

Raetia receives 11 historical events following the Via Raetia, imperial campaigns, Alamannic invasions, and the decline of Roman authority in the Alps. There are 7 missions offering several paths for expansion:

  • Press into Germania beyond the northern frontier.
  • Bring a weakened Noricum under our protection as a client.
  • Reach the Mediterranean and develop our new coastal territories.
  • Build a realm of at least 20 core territories.
  • Shape Raetia's identity as Germanic culture becomes more prominent.
  • Conquer ten Italian territories and claim a triumph in Italia.

Raetia has three unique Provincial Spirits:

  • Masters of the Passes - Enemy Hill and Mountain tiles contribute 20% less War Score.
  • Productive Investment - Each tile gains 2% Tile Output for every time it has been upgraded.
  • Commercial Renown - Gain 10% Prestige for each active trade.

Choose an Heir

You can now appoint one of the governor's sons as heir from the Family Tree. The chosen heir will assume governorship when the governor dies.

Right of Reprisal

When you are called into a war as a co-defender, you can proclaim a Right of Reprisal. This costs 50 Diplomatic Points and grants a five-year Breach of the Peace casus belli against the lead attacker. When our Prestige is higher, the casus belli reduces War Score by 10%.

Improved Tutorial

The tutorial now provides clearer guidance throughout the early game:

  • Learn when to change the government focus to military before an offensive war.
  • Province names and technology nodes can now be highlighted directly on the map and Tech Tree.
  • Tutorial progress updates correctly when game speed changes.
  • War, peace, resource, and technology instructions now use clearer inline icons and references.
  • The tutorial's early military guidance has been adjusted, including the recommended peacetime army maintenance target.

Balancing, Bugfixes & QoL

  • Pending game events now remain available for 12 months instead of 3 months.
  • Barbarian provinces can now spawn on previously unsettled tiles.
  • Initial tile upgrades are distributed randomly when starting a new run.
  • The former hidden governing-capacity bonus for Africa, Italia, Mauretania, and Tarraconensis is now represented by the visible Extensive Administration Provincial Spirit, granting 100 Governing Capacity.
  • Hillfort Bastion now caps its Tile Defense bonus at 50%.
  • Adjusted tech tree unlocks of Annex Client and Renew Vestments.
  • Updated the Family Tree, army controls, resource displays, war panels, and event artwork with clearer layouts and more consistent icons.
