Update 1.2.00 for Crisis in the Kremlin: The Cold War released!

It includes a long list of changes! In this major update, we’ve focused on deepening the political and macroeconomic mechanics, as well as significantly improving the ‘AI’. You can expect completely overhauled transparency, a new crisis system, and the ability for Eastern Bloc countries to join the USSR directly. The United States has become much smarter and more dangerous, and moving trade and oil to the regional level will add a new layer of diplomatic planning.

In addition, we’ve performed a deep rebalancing of modifiers (including labor shortages), added many long-awaited interface improvements (window dragging, tooltip freezing, bulk country selection), and optimized the game’s performance.

Major

  • The politician card system has been completely reworked — cards are now single-use, but each of them features its own unique game mode. Go for it!

  • Implemented a new Oligarchy mechanic.

  • Fully reworked the State System doctrine.

  • Improved the transparency of the Economy doctrine's mechanics, plus reworked the Keynesianism doctrine.

  • Trade weight of countries is now tied to their constituent regions, rather than the country itself.

  • Oil has been moved from countries to regions.

  • Added the ability to annex the GDR, Czechia, Slovakia, and Romania into the USSR.

  • The USA has become much smarter and more consistent (AI improvement).

  • Implemented smart formulas for US presidential elections.

  • Implemented a new save system.

  • Optimized the game.

  • Added new decisions and modifiers.

  • Added the Asian Financial Crisis.

  • Added the Transport Collapse.

  • Added the ability to retransmit Western news back to the USA.

  • Added the ability to establish a base in Guantanamo.

  • Added 4 new buttons in wars.

  • Added a new map mode: Regions.

Balance

  • Fully reworked the Labor Deficit modifier.

  • Added tracking of professional military personnel for advisors in wars. Changed the effect of advisors in wars.

  • Rebalanced the leftism and democratic parameters of certain doctrines.

  • Penal battalions now depend on the Law and Order level.

  • ICBMs now increase support in African and American countries (where coups happen) based on the formula: (ICBMs minus US army strength) divided by 25.

  • Added the impact of VAT on Empty Shelves.

  • Reworked the effects of the unique events for Romanov, Grishin, and Shcherbitsky.

  • Added oil to the countries within the USSR.

  • The appearance of politicians now depends on the Election doctrine, corruption, and unity.

  • Reworked "obscure/vague" achievements — doctrine conditions are no longer so strict as to create a bottleneck.

Minor

  • Implemented the ability to select multiple countries on the map at once.

  • Implemented direct display of indicator impacts on statistics.

  • Added the ability to drag game windows.

  • Added the ability to "freeze" tooltips (selectable in settings).

  • You can now cancel a doctrine transition if you have already started it.

  • Added new response options for the Katyn and Pact events.

  • Introduced a metric for the player country's size in sq. km.

  • Renamed some of the sciences/technologies.

  • Added information about the rulers offered at the start.

  • China's status is now displayed via a modifier.

  • Updated the visual appearance of note-events.

  • Added 8 new achievements.

  • Added two new cheats for Sandbox mode.
