Version 0.0.753 of the Draw Steel Codex is now available!

Adjusting Monster Levels

We have implemented support to easily adjust monster levels. To do this, place a monster creature on the map and open their character sheet. To the right of their Level there will be an Adjust Levels button. Clicking this button will pop a modal that allows you to:

  • Adjust the level of the monster up and down. This will automatically scale potency, characteristics, stamina, EV, general tier damage and strike tier damage based on the monster math MCDM use when creating monsters.

  • These changes are displayed to you in a table that is easy to read and understand the impact of adjusting levels.

  • You can click Reset to return the monster to its original level.

  • Minions have an additional control where you can apply the scaling to the entire squad (default) or to an individual minion in that squad should you so choose,

Last week we added a creature template to apply the Instant Solo rules to an Elite or Leader monster. Some discussion we had internally was that was great for Leaders who already had Villain Actions but Elites were still not as powerful as a true Solo or upgraded Leader as they don't have Villain Actions. To improve upon this, Elite and Leader monsters now have a Make Solo button underneath their role on their character sheet. This button will:

  • Change the monster type to Solo

  • Apply the Instant Solo template

  • Add and automatically expand a Villain Actions category to your abilities with empty slots for Villain Action 1, 2, 3 (or Opener, Crowd Control, Showstopper respectively). Clicking on any of these slots will open the Villain Action Picker which will populate a list of all Villain Actions of that category on any existing monster in the Codex. This is filterable, you can preview an ability and then add it to the creature to instantly give them that ability. You can also author a new ability from this picker by clicking Create New and this will open the Ability Editor with the Ability Category preset to Villain Action and the Villain Action # defaulted to the slot you opened the picker from.

Other New features

  • Add Animal builder to Predator B

  • You can now edit the properties of a floor to change the image used for that floor. Upload multiple variants of a map, like a "flooded" version or a "on fire" version and switch between them with a few clicks.

  • You can now set your preferred image editor in settings, and then Live Edit the image used for objects on your map. It will pop open the image in your image editor, edit it, save, and the Codex will recognize the changes you've made instantly!

Performance Pass

  • We've done a performance pass focused on the memory usage of the app, aiming to reduce it.

  • Memory usage has been decreased significantly, especially VRAM usage.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where sometimes left and right arrow keys would become unbound to token movement.

  • Add "While Persisting" to Aura durations

  • Change Aura duration for Elementalist 2nd level O Flower Aid, O Earth Defend

  • Change Aura duration for Elementalist 5th level Storm of Sands and Web of All That's Come Before

  • Correct Persistent issue with Elementalist 5th Level Storm of Sands

  • Removed duplicated Natural Weapon from Predator A

  • Correct Troubador's Twist at the End raising corpse with full health instead of half.

  • Correct abilities like Talent's Blur not including base ability cost.

  • Correct Healing Grace costing 1 Piety more than intended.

  • Marked condition color changed. Green for Go.

  • Judged condition color changed to the same as Holy Damage

  • Fixed an issue where the Imit Putty could continue to grow in size if Uncanny Impression was used multiple times in an encounter

  • Fixed the War Dog Sharpshooter With Captain bonus so it applied the range bonus correctly

  • Fixed an issue where the Human Blackguard End Effect trigger would prompt when there were no Save Ends effects to end.

  • Fixed an issue where the Ogre Goon's Defiant Anger damage immunity could stack with the damage immunity from Rampage

  • Fixed an issue where the Chorogaunt's Chaotic Entrancing Harmony would not allow you to slide targets

  • No Dying On My Watch now accounts for the Distance bonus of a Kit in its range

  • Fixed a bug where the navigation arrows for the Add Item menu in the inventory were not displaying correctly

  • Fixed a bug where Revenger's Wrap incorrectly applied the bleeding effect to any target and not just those that were marked for revenge

  • Fixed a bug where input fields on the Character Panel would artifact when the Color Scheme was changed

Community Spotlight

The Mythic Treasures Crowdfund is ending in the coming days. This Crowdfund includes 20 mythic treasures and 100 trinkets. They are tantalizingly close to meeting their Codex stretch goal which would see implementation of the 20 mythic treasures in the Codex. If you want to see more treasures in Draw Steel and want to see more content in the Codex, consider backing them!
