We took another look at what makes raising a single officer rewarding. If clicking an officer in the Smithy used to show you a name and a few numbers, now it shows you who they are.

🎨 The Smithy, Rebuilt Around Your Officers

  • Your officer, full size — The portrait that used to be boxed into a small window now takes the whole screen. For many officers, this is the first time you will see them in full

  • Battle-worn portraits, any time — That wounded look you only ever glimpsed mid-fight is now yours to open whenever you like. Switch between Standard, Battle-Worn, and Elite with a button

  • Courtesy names alongside — Every officer now carries the name their contemporaries would have used, set beside their given name

  • The bonds this officer opens — Every co-op skill they take part in is listed, marked by whether you can trigger it now or are still missing members. This is where you decide who to recruit next

  • Collected and missing — The roster on the right gathers the officers you own at the top, so you can see how far your collection has come at a glance

⭐ Elite Portraits — The Reward for Maxing Out

  • Unlocked at level 10 — A second look reserved for officers you have taken all the way. The moment you meet the requirement, the view switches to it

  • With their story — The strategist who foresaw a realm split three ways, the warlord who broke a far larger army against the odds, the general who cut down a champion and rode back to his old lord. Each elite portrait carries a passage on that life

  • Three to begin — The first three officers are ready. More will follow, and you can see which ones are still to come right in the view

⚔️ Who Is Hurt, Who Is Down

  • Injuries you actually notice — The portrait that surfaced when an officer got hurt used to vanish so fast it was easy to miss. It now stays long enough to register

  • A voice when they are wounded, too — Dialogue that only played on defeat now appears on injury as well, so you can read who needs reviving straight off the screen

  • The air of a hard fight — Each battle-worn portrait now has its own backdrop of dusk light and drifting smoke, so you can see what kind of battle they came through

🚀 A Lighter Lobby

  • Windows open right away — The brief hitch when opening the codex, formation, or bond windows is gone

  • Scrolling is smooth — Flick through the officer roster or bond codex as fast as you like without stutter

  • No more blank art — Fixed the moment where portrait slots sat empty when a screen first opened

  • High refresh rate fix — Corrected a bug where visual quality dropped on its own at 144Hz and above

  • Character name fix — Some officer names displayed as empty boxes in Simplified Chinese, and that is resolved

✨ Co-op Skill Effects

  • Six skills redrawn — New effect art across six co-op skills

  • Playback speed fix — One skill animation was running faster than intended and has been corrected

🔜 Coming in Future Updates

  • Broad balance pass — Across officers, skills, enemies, and progression

  • Reworked unlock flow

  • More gamepad convenience — Button remapping and other refinements
