The Windzen Legend · published · build 25071313
Greetings, Excavouters!
This is Mark speaking, Team Leader of the Yasmar City Construction Crew.
We're not a crew that ever sits down on the job, and as such we have a fresh set of improvements to share with you! The Windzen Legend has just received its first patch, and it brings a multitude of improvements to the game just eight hours after it launched!
The big changes are as follows:
Patricia's JetSkates have been improved, and no longer detect every slight downhill slope as a cliff. Skate downhill to your heart's content, with your feet now firmly on the ground!
Patricia's 'Running' state is no longer able to supersede or interrupt her 'Talking', 'Inspecting', and 'Shopping' states, in the case that a directional key was still being held when the interaction began.
Patricia's Lock-On function is now less sensitive on the Scroll Wheel and Analog Stick, and has a new short cooldown period after swapping targets that should make the experience of choosing which Balkin to blow to bits much easier on the stomach.
The Dock District has been added to the scene list and no longer hangs the game when access is attempted. Yes, really, we forgot to make sure an entire district of the city was in the build's scene list.
Scene transitions can no longer be spammed by mashing the interact button in front of a door. This was a disaster in the making that we tested for a long time ago and fixed, but it managed to crop back up during recent script alterations.
Colliders for triggering NPC dialogue have been adjusted across the board. Speaking to NPCs should now be a comfortable experience throughout the game.
Removed the strange plastic glossy effect on Patricia's face materials and ensured that each of her expressions receives light and shadow to the same degrees. These issues developed recently, which can be seen by their absence in the demo we released last week. Auto-Bolt and Ara were similarly fixed up.
Smaller fixes are as follows:
Fixed various typos and grammatical errors in several dialogues.
Gave Munition his dialogue collider on Afloat.
Gave Auto-Bolt his proper dialogue on Afloat.
Gave the receptionist and the visitor their proper dialogue in the Mayor's Office.
Cleaned up many materials, including light and shadow levels on Ara.
Set certain materials with transparencies to be visible on both sides of the mesh.
Replaced the Excavouter desk on Ruin 1F with the final asset, rather than the old beta version that managed to sneak into the initial build of the game. As such, it now has its missing materials and collider.
Fixed the Recreation District Construction Member to correctly talk about the Recreation District, rather than the Power District.
Fixed the Yasmar TV Station Construction Member to no longer use the Dialogue Camera Coordinates of a nearby NPC instead of his own.
Removed the rogue treasure chest inside 'Afloat - Interior'.
Added a collider for the Ruin entrance in the Western Forest.
Added a collider for the arcade machines inside 'Afloat - Interior'.
One content tweak as well:
Gave new instructions to the Flutter Frills Construction Member to reflect a possible change of plan for the store's purpose and utility to the player once it's completed.
We recognize that scene transitions are in a really rough state, and we're on it, but the issue has been tougher to track down than most problems we've dealt with so far. For one thing, transitions are only rough in builds! In the editor scene transitions fade out and fade back in very nicely. We're not sure where the disconnect is happening at the moment but we'll get it smoothed out before next month's content update!
We tend to work at a pretty quick pace here at the Yasmar City Construction Crew. We take honest feedback and constructive criticism very seriously and get right to work on applying both whenever and wherever we can. That being said, we're only three-hundred and twenty guys, and sometimes things slip past us. Your feedback has already been instrumental in improving what we have here. We hope you'll continue to work with us so Yasmar City can become the greatest it can possibly be!
Signed,
Mark - Team Leader of the Yasmar City Construction Crew.
