Hi everyone!
Since the demo launched, I've been watching how new players actually get into the game — and a lot of systems that feel obvious to me as the developer clearly weren't obvious at all.
This update is the direct result of that feedback: the demo now has a proper guided tutorial, a major UI overhaul, expanded content creation tools and a long list of fixes and improvements.
As always, this is a free demo of an early alpha build, developed by a solo developer using a custom engine. Bugs can occur at this stage, and every bug report genuinely helps improve the game.
A guided tutorial with on-screen objectives and progress tracking.
Learn to gather resources, train your first units and build up your settlement.
Advance into the Bronze Age while preparing for and defending against an early enemy attack.
A new tutorial invitation appears on the main menu and can be dismissed if you already know the game.
A new Continue button lets you quickly return to your most recent save.
Classic Match, Campaign and Tutorial now have their own clear entry points in the Singleplayer menu.
Completely redesigned circular minimap that rotates with the camera and includes a compass ring and view-frustum indicator.
The resource bar now shows how many workers are assigned to each resource.
Worker information now clearly displays the assigned resource and currently carried amount.
Redesigned resource-node information panel with portrait and gathering information.
Event and tutorial notifications now appear as dismissible cards instead of temporary center-screen messages.
New Embark ability icon makes boarding transport ships much clearer.
New HUD notification, age-up and anti-air warning sounds.
The Create Content section is now accessible directly from the demo.
Create and save one custom civilization.
Experiment with the Block Resource Pack Editor.
Experiment with the Civilization Resource Pack Editor.
Customize parts of the game's visual and civilization content.
These tools are still in development and will continue to evolve.
The Scenario/Map Editor remains a feature of the full version.
Graphics quality is now automatically selected on first launch based on available RAM and CPU performance instead of always starting with a low preset.
Ultra particle effects are now available across all hardware tiers.
Workers now move out of a building footprint after construction is completed.
Idle or blocked gatherers automatically search for another nearby resource node.
Ships no longer attempt to navigate through other players' docks.
Improved naval movement along coastlines.
Fixed units occasionally clipping through cliffs and terrain edges.
A single stuck unit no longer stops an entire Explore or Search-and-Destroy group.
Multiple selected transport ships can now unload their units together.
Peaceful wildlife such as deer no longer triggers automatic retaliation.
Forest generation now maintains better gaps between trees to prevent impassable clusters.
Improved unit animations so attached limbs and weapons correctly follow body movement.
Trees now provide more wood.
Hunting provides more food.
Catapult population cost increased from 2 to 3.
The complete changelog can be found in-game under About → Release Notes.
The full version additionally receives Last Stand, a new single-player survival mode.
Defend a fixed island base against increasingly powerful enemy attack waves while keeping track of the current wave and battle phase directly in the HUD.
Last Stand is not included in the demo, but gives a small preview of where Voxel Dynasties is heading.
Found a bug? Something confusing? Or simply have an idea for an improvement?
That's exactly what this demo is for.
You can share feedback through the Steam Community Discussions or send a bug report to

Thank you for playing and helping me improve Voxel Dynasties!
And if you enjoy the demo, adding the full game to your Steam wishlist helps this solo-developed project more than you might think. ❤️
