SubwaySim 2 - Berlin Route DLC: U4 · published

As some of you may already have noticed at Gamescom, the Berlin network in SubwaySim 2 is continuing to grow. 🚇
Today, we're making it official: With the SubwaySim 2 – Berlin Route DLC: U4, another Berlin U-Bahn line will soon be coming to the game.
And this time, you won't have to wait long for a release date either:
The Berlin Route DLC: U4 will be released on September 4th, 2026!
That means there are only a few days left until you can take to the new route yourself.
The new DLC brings Berlin's U4 between Innsbrucker Platz and Nollendorfplatz to SubwaySim 2.
On one of the shortest lines of the Berlin U-Bahn, you'll take over regular passenger services between a total of five stations:
Innsbrucker Platz – Rathaus Schöneberg – Bayerischer Platz – Viktoria-Luise-Platz – Nollendorfplatz
The entire route can be driven in both directions and includes not only the four stations, but also the corresponding track and tunnel sections as well as reversing facilities.
Just like with the GI/1E, this DLC is once again being developed in collaboration with 3DZug. Together, we've recreated the route and its many details – from the stations and route-specific objects to the many smaller elements that give the U4 its own character.
Particular attention has been paid to the individual stations. Platforms, entrances and connecting areas, as well as signage, materials, lighting, and numerous other details are based on their respective real-world counterparts.
Passenger information systems have also been integrated accordingly, including the appropriate IBIS, ELA, and Daisy content.
The new route also introduces a technical addition to SubwaySim 2.
For the U4, we've implemented a new signalling system that is even more closely based on the signalling technology and operational procedures of the real-world route.
This allows us not only to represent operations on the U4 more authentically, but also to further develop the signalling technology in SubwaySim 2.
There's something new to discover underground as well.
The U4's tunnel sections feature dynamic tunnel lighting control. Instead of simply remaining permanently illuminated, the lighting is controlled depending on the current situation and ongoing operations.
Especially on the predominantly underground U4, this adds more variety and creates a more fitting atmosphere while driving.
Of course, the U4 will be fully integrated into SubwaySim 2's existing game modes.
The route comes with its own real-world-inspired timetables and can be driven in both directions as part of the regular Timetable Mode. You'll also be able to take on services on the U4 in Career Mode.
In addition to regular operations, the DLC includes four specially created scenarios, featuring different tasks and operational situations for you to master on the new route.
Both player-controlled and AI services are supported on the U4.
And even if you don't own the DLC, the U4 will still become part of your Berlin game world to some extent: At Nollendorfplatz, you'll be able to see AI-operated U4 trains in action.
You won't have to wait much longer: The SubwaySim 2 – Berlin Route DLC: U4 will be released on September 4th, 2026.
We can't wait to be out on the U4 together with you very soon!
