Hi, Ells&Pills is here!
Here is the second batch of game improvements that I didn't manage to finish in time for yesterday's update. Thanks for the feedback!
This update includes the following changes:
- All in-game textures have been translated into Japanese.
In one of the older updates, I adapted all the textures into English. Part of the original meaning behind those "madman's notes" was successfully captured, while some parts weren't. It’s way harder with Japanese, since it’s a completely different world with its own distinct culture and unique language that is nothing like Cyrillic or Latin script. But I hope that part of the intended meaning was successfully adapted and conveyed.
All of those A4 sheets kept their exaggerated bureaucratic ugliness: crooked formatting, stupid requirements, and the distinct feeling that they were typed up by hypothetical employees who couldn't care less about their job or their patients. - Added a framerate limit setting.
You can now separately configure VSync and your preferred frame limit. - Added a warning to the game rules screen stating that there are no text-based anomalies in the game.
To be fair, that was never the plan. It would be way too cruel to make players check every single piece of paper for typos. But I received feedback that adding this info to the game would be a great idea, so now it’s there. - Disabled interaction with all doors.
This could also throw players off and served no actual purpose. At the very start of development, I planned to make offices that you could peek into. But those rooms went under the knife, while the interactive doors stayed behind. - Further rebalanced the anomaly spawn chance after completing the counter on the doors. At the end of the game, you'll still have to run back and forth a bit, but not nearly as many times.
- The option to change the language is now locked during gameplay.
The reason for this is that in-game textures cannot be swapped on the fly; it only works in the main menu and requires loading a different level. This should clear up any confusion. - Adjusted footsteps audio settings so that the sound is heard evenly across all audio channels.
Best Regards,
